We had an absolutely divine dinner at Kingdom 1795 last night. The food was beautifully presented, original and each bite sheer pleasure. We were actually nearly speechless during courses we were savoring each bite so carefully. Original combinations (such as scallops with broth of pork belly and peas) which worked incredibly well with balanced flavors that made each ingredient shine. I loved my turbot with violet artichoke, shitake and sea lettuce with a beautiful delicate sauce. My husband loved his beef tartare and lamb. The desserts--rhubarb choux with burnt meringue and cheesecake ice cream as well as the caramelized custard, fried dough and herb sugar (zesty lime and perhaps thyme on a bed of cream) were incredible and beautiful to look at. And the BREAD--a gorgeous sourdough and brown bread were the best we have had. In addition Suzi and servers were all so nice and helpful (hard to choose with so many enticing menu choices) and the restaurant is a beautiful relaxing space. We can't wait to be back!

What a stand out meal and experience. We were lucky to get a table in Kingdom 1795 during our holiday in County Kerry. Suzi who was serving us was fantastic, offering such a personal experience, sharing in her particular her knowledge of the wine list, and detail on the wine that we chose. The quality of the ingredients and cooking was exceptionally high, with flavours that were interesting (who knew that crab and pistachio went so well together?!). The potatoes were simply delicious: we had to have a second portion! We had all the desserts between us: the chocolate mousse with a hint of stout was stellar. We could not recommend Kingdom 1795 highly enough: thoroughly deserving of a Michelin Guide recommendation. Thanks Suzi and Damian for a wonderful evening, delicious food, and great memories. We wish you all the best.

This restaurant is a real treat. A Michelin-starred restaurant that celebrates local seafood, meats and produce with prices that won't break the bank, but will have you coming for more. Exquisite baked breads kick off the meal. Get the three-course meal because each course is a beautiful definition of the central ingredient — gorgeous scallops cooked to perfection with parsley root and leeks that compliment but don't overwhelm the main attraction. Duck that's tender, rich and savory, Wagyu that you can cut through with your fork like butter. Excellent wine list, too. And, of course, Suzy, the maitre d with the mostest. Come for the amazing food, stay for the chat. World class, but incredibly, deliciously Irish.

It’s a long review but a necessary one. I have eaten at this restaurant once . It was fabulous . We really enjoyed our meal and special occasion. So I booked another date for a special Anniversary with my wife . We gave them 3 weeks notice and asked for an early dinner. Our reservation was confirmed for 6 pm. We had to be gone by 8. Three weeks went by , we booked our baby sitter , dog minder , got ready in plenty of time . We left for the restaurant honestly thinking it was a 6.30 reservation . Why? Because they said on their website it opened at 6.30 , not 6 and we checked again while travelling the 10 miles and it said it was currently closed but opened at 6.30. At 6.10 we were 5 minutes from the restaurant but traffic held us back. We got a call from the restaurant saying we were late and we would have to hurray or our reservation and deposit ,they demanded we pay of 40 euro , would be taken away . Stressed, we now were under pressure but still stuck 2 minutes from the restaurant in traffic . They were told this on the first call. She called again at 6.15 irate and aggressive telling us it was too late , we would disturb the other guests as it was full and they were understaffed . She refused to compromise or offer us an alternative . She was unprofessional. She was punishing us . Very disappointed we still travelled to the restaurant and got there at 6.30 !! I looked inside and there must have been only 10 people at the tables and plenty of empty tables . I actually walked into the kitchen as the door was open and peeked inside . Full of staff . Full. So , yes we were being punished , as she thought , how dare they arrive late ! I’ll show them . Dont they know who they are dealing with . Blah blah blah . We didn’t get to eat for our anniversary dinner ,, didn’t get our deposit back .Still had to payout all our expenses . The only excuse she offered as to why there was confusion over their opening times ( they had three email opportunities to confirm to me again our reservation time .. but didn’t ) was “ oh no one uses our website”! Amazed at her response it made me very irritable . We are middle aged self employed business people . Employers and previously we both have worked as chefs and in restaurants and tourism internationally . NEVER have we ever been spoken to with such malice and deliberate disregard. While the food previously was good , we will never visit their restaurant again . I am sure she doesn’t care less as was born out by her attitude to us. Arrogance personified and frankly stupidity on amazing display . No restaurant is bigger than their clients . Nobody deserves the treatment we got for an honest mistake on our part because of their incompetence with their website . NOBODY . I think too big for their own boots best describes this establishment . I hope you have better luck than we have at reserving a simple table . Ours was a disaster we ended up paying for and I maintain was not our fault . Dreadful . So a big fat 1 for the legacy memory of our first experience , when they first opened I might add and were eager to please . That service went out the window . So take care if you’re reserving at this restaurant … don’t take anything on their website as accurate and her word even less . Really an awful experience best forgotten. Shameful attitude to...

Quite an upsetting experience.

We booked an hour before our arrival for a table of five during our trip to the region. We were pointed to a sole table in the bar area, not a great atmosphere for a treat, but I realised we had made a real mistake when I asked about child menu options for our three young children. We were informed that there were no such options, and we would have seen this had we viewed the sample menus online.

So we went to the table to see what might be possible, realising quickly based on price and adult based options we would need to leave. I apologised profusely, probably too much, the response was angry. "You should have viewed the menus online before coming here“, "you have now blocked a small business from rebooking a table”, "there are other children their age in the restaurant already eating quite happily”.

While I understand the inherent pressures you were trying to convey, it was unfair you decided to take this out on us. Scolding us as we tried to apologise out your door was truly shocking. It was vindictive bullying, with the sole premise to shame us off your premises. In front of our children.

Again, we booked at very short notice, so the response was a little extreme. I didn't spend the time to study there was no child options. I wasn't prepared to spend 55euro per child. Our bad, wish you just accepted our...
