Great stop for a bite of food and coffee on the way to or coming back from West Cork. Also a brilliant place for a Sunday lunch. Update 5 Dec 2022: I've been waiting a long time to see the new layout and sample the food. My enthusiasm was quickly dampened by something in between incompetence and disorganisation. We arrived at 11.30am and were told that breakfast was over and carvery was on. Nobody mentioned there was also an a la carte menu. We were told that the cafe doesn't serve hot food but "don't be angry because we don't make the rules". So we opted for coffee and a sandwich. There were no vegetarian options. We ordered a cappuccino and an oat milk latte. The waitress arrived some 15 minutes later with an Americano and what she said was an oat milk latte. When we pointed out that thid was not what we had actually ordered the waitress kept repeating "don't panic don't panic .". We were bemused. She came back with the oat milk latte after telling my friend that the original drink was the oatmilk latte. It turned out it was regular milk and if my friend had been lactose intolerant or vegan, it would have been more serious. She then took the oat milk latte away and the original mistaken latte and returned a third time with the same oat milk latte which had cooled and a cappuccino. Fawlty Towers could do a remake with this carry on. The croissant was very poor with no butter or jam on the side. Piles of dirty self were left on the table next to us. The toilets were clean and well kept... although the soap dispensers didn't work. Ill let you make up your own mind but I won't be rushing back at the prices and level of service. On the plus side there was a long line of people for the carvery and this seemed to be good value at 14.95 euro. I might come back and try this and there was a vegetarian option. Maybe its just teething problems. They have a lot to live up to because the previous owner ran a right ship which was very welcoming.

4 of us at a table of 5 ordered the gunpowder chicken wings. All 4 of us thought they were inedible. Our server didn’t come over to us once to ask if we were enjoying our meal. They tasted like they were cooked in a dishwasher. After 40 mins of sitting in front of our full plates of inedible and raw chicken wings. The server asked us if we wanted to see the dessert menu, and didn’t ask if we enjoyed our meal. I politely told the server the chicken wasn’t very nice and none of us enjoyed it. The server only cleared up 2 plates and didn’t come back to clear the rest of the table until I waved my hand at them for the 5/6th time. After our complaint, they kindly offered us €5 discount off of €40 worth of wings… The 4 of us who tried to eat the wings were sick for 24 hours after eating them. Shocking service and horrible food. Do not order the gunpowder chicken wings!!!

Pure mayhem. So disorganised and unprofessional. Senior member of staff and junior member argued with each other in front of me and I wouldn't mind but they were so uncourteous to each other it was very awkward for me. The staff were generally untrained with the exception of the barista & the senior member of staff who was trying to do it all by herself which is just poor management on her part to be fair.

We were brought to a table that needed to be cleaned and enroute to getting a cloth got distracted and didn't come back to us, so we were left standing at a dirty table for a few minutes until we grabbed another waitress to help us. Brought the wrong coffee (1) after 5 or so minutes, so then the barista came over herself to get the order from us and then brought us the right coffees (2).

The 'breakfast' Menus are all over the place. Apparently no fresh food served between 11-12 at all, they've apparently changed the breakfast menu 3 times since opening and done away with the brunch elements, so never really gave that a chance. Pre-made sandwiches that were soggy and quite unappetizing to be honest, was starving at this stage and irked about no breakfast or brunch, which to be fair had been updated online albeit i hadn't checked in a week as i didn't think it would've changed so quickly.

No baby changing facilities in the cafe section, not very accessible either for the buggy.

To end on a positive note, the coffee...

Arrived at 11.15 , & was disapointed to be told breakfast was over...& lunch didnt start until 12 , we sat with a cuppa while we waited , i noticed some scones on the counter so asked a waittress( her name was Tasha , who was a lovely pleasent friendly waitress) to put them in a bag for me to takeaway.......i saw her put them in a bag & mark the bag ..........hoever when i was going in for lunch & asked for them I was told they were put back out & sold ! Even tho the bag was clearly marked ! ....this annoyed me.........we went into lunch , at this stage i felt i only wanted a toastie , again disapointed to see there was no choice of sandwich ....i took the one they were serving blt ...it wasnt nice , small porion sourdough bread with tiny portion rocket& a horrble onion jelly ....... at 11.50 euro,it was pricy ..... The Supervisor , Michelle, approched & told me they put on some scones for me because of them being put out .... she also said there was no charge....I thought that was a good gesture and great customer service ....to be honest , that gesture will make me try again in a couple of weeks when they are more established , otherwise I was ready to say ' never...
