I’ve come to the Bramley before and had a nice coffee experience here so came as a group of five of us for lunch. The waitress was not very friendly to begin with. I asked her was there any vegetarian salad to which she replied abruptly ā€œnoā€. I am aware that a veg salad is not on the menu but I have worked in service before and such requests are easy to accommodate within a kitchen. (Especially since I saw a selection of salads on display when I was leaving). She was totally uninterested it seemed and she didn’t give sufficient info about a burger my brother ordered who has allergies when he inquired as to whether or not there was egg products...We did not see this waitress again but another younger waitress served us and she was very pleasant. My mom’s coffee was not warm after waiting about 20 minutes for the coffees. Massive confusion over allergy inquiry (was the egg in the burger or not). My brother ended up getting a steak sandwich with no bread and a large bowl of onions on the side. Presentation = 0, especially presenting this to a young teenager who already feels a bit awkward about such an allergy. Lunch was not worth €80 in total. I certainly do not mind paying €20 a head when you get your money’s worth - but I certainly did not receive that today. I won’t be...

Beautiful quaint little restaurant in a prime location near Fota resort. Great menu and staff very friendly. The starter of goats cheese and pear empanada was fantastic. One of the best things I've eaten for some time. Unfortunately from there everything went downhill. Wings were oily and soggy rather than crispy as on the menu. The chicken supreme with potato galette was served with a watered down mash potato. I'd have brought this to the attention of a member of staff if there'd been one available. By this stage there were people arriving waiting to be seated and the limited staff numbers were under a lot of pressure. After the mains I asked about the potato only to be told that it was a mistake on the menu and that potato galette wasn't available. First time I've gotten that response in a restaurant. Waited about 25 mins for plates to be taken away and a further 15 minutes for them to bring the bill. Overall very disappointing after such a great start. No excuse for getting...

We used to always rely on this place for a good quality meal. We were willing to pay the price as the food was pretty ok. We haven't been there since summer of 23 so we decided to go recently for some lunch. I ordered Angus 8oz beef burger and chips. Very greasy, bland burger and your typical deep fat fried chips. For almost €20 it is a disgrace. You would have the same quality of food at a take away for half the price. My wife ordered tempura of fish with parmantier potatoes. Sounds really nice right? We weren't sure what parmantier potatoes so we asked the waiter and he described them as being baked. Again just your typical battered bland greasy fish and deep fat fried potatoes cubes. Similar cubes to what you'd get in a deli counter in Centra. For €18 this is ridiculous. I'm not sure what happened to this place. New management maybe? Either way we were very disappointed and will not be going back...

Bramley lodge offers indoor, covered terrace and outdoor seating as well as breakfast lunch and dinner. We went for Sunday lunch. Best of the menu was the miso warm chicken salad ( which went really well with some glazed vegetables as a side). Notable features is that portion size for all dishes is very generous and the dish presentation is eye-watering. This held true for the roast of the day, that day ( beef ) and the hake plate, both were plentiful. The melt-in the- mouth textured hake on a bed of mashed potatoes and al dente broccoli did however need ( mushroom and mussels) the sauce for taste. Of the desserts, the meringue and the Bramley apple pie were winners. It is in a lovely, relaxing setting, staff are very friendly and helpful and has plenty of car park space for guests. Don’t forget to check out the hens and goats in a hen coop in the car park - great novelty for the kids.

The quality of the food has gone downhill. We ordered a burger and turkey with mashed potatoes as a main course. The chips on my burger were overcooked and bitter, for some reason there was pickle skin on it, not even a quarter, just skin. The turkey was dry because it was cooked and then reheated many times and had an unpleasant old meat taste. We have been to this place several times, but now we are unlikely to return. The nice waitress wanted to make a refund, but we paid and decided that people should get better food in the future. Please change the oil in your fryer and have a talk with the cooks. Thanks 😊

Food was grand, coffee was lovely. Our server was super! Only issues were they had limited supplies between tables so as soon as you used something theyd to take it and give it to another table. The person who greeted us was curt and particularly lax with safety; wasnt wearing his mask over his nose, when speaking to his colleagues and some customers he took it off altogether. This enabled another server to wear their mask under their chin.
