Have eaten in this Restraunt on several occasions with my four friends. On a few occasions the Complementary papers - The Irish Independent and the Evening Herald were on the bar counters and one three occasions I asked could I take one as I did not get a chance to read during the meal. Bar person said go ahead they are well read so off I went with my read for the evening at home.
On my last visit 3 weeks ago and let me tell you that was and will be my Last visit to this place after having visited it seven times in three weeks.
After our meal for which was not as good as usual we were leaving I Went to the bar to see if there was a spare complimentary paper. There were three Evening Heralds and three Irish Indo and may I add well read and just thrown on the counter.
There was no bar person at the bar so I took Evening Herald as I had already bought my Irish Indo before I went to Restraurant so Evening Herald might just have somethings I had not noticed in Indo.
I was walking out towards our car when this man came charging after me to point out that the Herald was marked D McG just grabbed paper out of my hand and left me totally in shock. This man was a member of staff.
I was so shocked I phoned the Spawekll after I got home but nobody answewed the phon so I phoned there other premises and the receptionist gave me the number for the Managers Jim McLouglin to get explanation from him for this embarrassing incident.
I phoned the number given and spoke to the Manager Jim McLouglin who has apologised for the incident and said that paper are usually taken by customers. He said he did not know who the member of staff was but would check the cctv and get back to me the following day.
That is now three weeks ago and I have phoned his number and nobody answered it which makes me now believe that he was the man that took the paper off me. We had just spent over €56 euro for a meal for four, that day and over €400 over over the previous months.
What Customer service is that for a pub/Restraurant.
Will be filling in my Trip Advisors report over the next few days. I expected at least Mr O'Loughlin would have phoned me again after viewing his cctv as he said he would. I have not been there since nor have any of my friends. If that is your way of treating customers over a free paper or maybe you pay 50c then you certainly are in the wrong...

Read moreD'Arcy McGee's offers a peaceful oasis with ample parking just outside. The attentive staff provide efficient service, ensuring a smooth dining experience. I commenced my meal with a delightful serving of homemade leek and potato soup alongside a fresh roll, which truly hit the spot. For the main course, I opted for the prime roast rib of beef accompanied by all the traditional trimmings. The potatoes were expertly cooked, with both the roasties and mash reaching perfection.
However, I must mention a couple of drawbacks from my overall experience. The lack of thick gravy was noticeable, detracting slightly from the dish. Additionally, the beef, while tender, leaned towards the dry side, warranting a touch of moisture. It was also surprising to learn that the restaurant sources beef not exclusive to Ireland but from across the broader EU region, which may disappoint those seeking a more local or authentic Irish dining experience, particularly considering the price point.
Overall, D'Arcy McGee's offers a cosy atmosphere, attentive service, and...
