Di Bella — Restaurant in South Dublin

I’ve been a customer off and on over the years , recently more for takeaway and doing this on Sunday I ended up having a very frustrating thing happen over a very small request. I’ve had several pizzas recently as take away and asked yesterday for the same , pepperoni all over , ham on one side and sweetcorn on the other (same pizza we get wherever) - and I was told that was impossible, the chef wasn’t able to do that and nor was the computer system. When I collected the pizza I asked again why it couldn’t be done as I didn’t understand and had had several pizzas of late from there - the young woman behind the counter doubted that , but maybe a manager had done it, but she had asked the chef and not only had she never heard of such a thing she had never made that or been asked to presumably therefore making me out to by lying. This was all delivered with a smirk and as much as I have usually enjoyed the food from di Bella , will be giving it a miss for the foreseeable future. I just thought management should be made aware. This was hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. My friends brought a cake to celebrate my birthday, but the manager wouldn’t let us cut it at the table. When we tried to enjoy it privately, after ordering desert, she rushed over to take the cake away, and in the process, she spilled our bottle of red wine over me.

She didn’t apologise and just proceeded to lecture us. When we brought up that she needed to apologise for spilling the wine she tried to blame us saying “she wouldn’t have been at the table at all if we hadn’t been eating the cake” and took absolutely no responsibility. Her attitude was rude and completely unprofessional. After ordering three courses and buying three bottles of wine, I’m not sure what the problem was. We didn’t get so much as a discount on the bottle of wine she spilled.

Separately, they do not provide tap water and make you buy water at 5€ a bottle which is a bit of a disgrace in my opinion. Honestly it is no wonder the restaurant was empty 4 days before Christmas.

Service very poor first ordered a coffee got a mocha second we ordered a starter and main and a couple that came in after us ordered and received there meals even before we got the starter it doesn't take nearly 30 minutes to get a starter, will say the food was nice but order an apple juice for my daughter and about 3 minutes later I had to bring my son to the toilet I could see the apple juice behind the counter the two waitress talking, we came back to the table and my daughter still had not got the apple juice so I decided to pay and leave this happened at 6pm on Sat Feb 22nd and there was only 3 tables full in the place would hate to see them...
