The End of an Era

Background

It is with great sadness and regret, that after 20+ years, I officially ended my long standing relationship with Pizza Hut Rathfarnham.

What started off as a bubbly and innocent bond, built off delicious thin base pizzas, the juiciest of garlic bread ( OG's will remember) and the convenience of it being a stone thrown away, unfortunately the relationship has deteriorated in tandem with the standards and quality that the shop puts out.

The Main Event

Tonight was the night, Saturday night fever, the 11 month was in bed and myself and herself had agreed to get a pizza ( largely driven by my craving for a pizza with pineapple).

We ordered a large thin base pizza with double crispy bacon and double pineapple and some cookie dough to round off the indulgence.

Herself collected and drove home no longer than a 5/6 minute drive. I was excited, eager and starving a terrific combination.

When I opened the box I knew it was going to fall short of the once epic standards of this local establishment. Look, there was nothing horrifically wrong but straight away you could tell that the level of freshness was not going to match my expectation and previous experiences.

It would be amiss to not comment that I got double bacon and double pineapple ( Yeah what about it ?!) and I was disappointed to see literally 2 pieces of bacon on a couple of the slices.

Of course I ate my share and some because that's the type of guy I am, a team player but again it just didn't hit the spot.

Cookie dough was delicious but small, sure they know that already.

If you've gotten this far into the review, maybe we should be friends cause you clearly don't have a life either but I do want to comment on the service, my partner collected and said that everyone was very nice so fair play to the boots on the ground, this review is not a criticism on them, Pizza Hut have been cutting corners ( like a lot of other established chains) but tonight they've met there match from a man in his mid 30's with 20%+ body fat.

The Summary

To finish, a tear to what used to be a fine establishment and a hat tip to the staff who are stuck working to the standards driving by the man ( the man being the Pizza Hut in this instance) You'll continue to sell pizzas just not...

This was so bad - I ordered a winning deal (€21.95) for delivery and simply asked to exchange the chicken pieces for chicken breast pieces as I had done previously and paid a nominal amount ie 50 cent - I was told I couldn't do this and if I wanted my favoured meal it would cost me €26.95 which means I was paying €5 extra for my choice - I decided to simplify my order to a large Hawaiian pizza and fries and was told the order would be €17.95 - when I checked the menu the pizza and fries should be dearer than that and rang back to be told I only ordered the pizza and no fries - unbelievable bad service for people who have been ordering food there for many...

Really, it's fine, it's just any old Pizza hut. If that's what you want, fine go ahead, but if you want something that's a decent takeaway, and you haven't tried pizza hut, don't bother. It's overpriced and the flavours are too bland. I would recommend it if a pizza was cheap, but money doesn't stretch far here. The weird and special types promo deals are sometimes good, but the bog standard basic pizzas aren't worthwhile. This is nothing to say about this particular location, again, it's just like any other pizza hut, so if you want specifically to buy a pizza hut pizza, go here, otherwise, save your money and...
