The Salmon Leap Inn — Restaurant in South Dublin

We have been here a couple of times in the Eat Yard and I have to agree the staff are exceptional and so friendly, I wouldn't even say its even down to training they seem to be well picked. The food is good although the lack of plates can be a little off putting and when you get a curry in a plastic tray it does make me think of getting one of those premade meals from Lidl or SuperValu, I had the fish and chips, fish was a little soggy but the chips were top class, and the horseboxes is a good novelty although the seats could be a bit wider, they become uncomfortable after a while. A couple of dishes came out a bit cold and we were given a desert or a drink free, so really well handled. We've been here before in the pub part a few years ago where we had to vacate a table early and the same thing we got a full round of drinks for a party of 8, so again they never fail to look after their customers. I'm giving the overall experience 4.5 stars because you can see how much effort has been put in to deal with the current situation, the novelty may ware off but I think if they keep on top of their game they can make it work, the floor part of the dining area could do with something to liven it up. My review really shows, that in case of gasropubs the service is of a paramount importance. We were visiting Salmon Leap with a group of friends several times, every time they were brilliant, the food was really good plus the nice music all of these make us to come back. However the last time we were very disappointed, the waitress was balancing between being rude and just not giving a d..., She mixed up the orders a big time, decided by herself to substitute one dessert with another, then the guy who played the music was in a very nostalgic mood and very very loud. We decided to move to another place. But all previous experiences were good, so I hope we will be coming back to get another one like that. Nice choice of food for everyone. Had the veggie breakfast at 10 in the morning. Got what i was expecting.

Good place to get a bit of grub but nothing amazing. The beans where in a small metal pot and yet they where cold. Id Probably go back again as I'm 5 min up the road but I wouldn't highly recommend it to others based on this visit alone.

My sister had the avocado on sourdough with poached eggs, no seasoning but the salt and pepper is on the table.

Cosy atmosphere and nice staff, though slow to get a menu.

Might have been an off day so I might give it another chance with a lunch or dinner and amend my review.

Solid enough car park behind the building so you wont have trouble for a parking spot.
