Following the experience that we have just had at Watters I honestly believe people should be aware of whom they are supporting in business. I genuinely regret that our first visit here will be our last. The meal was average. Soup and chowder starters were just okay. The 10oz fillet steak won't win any awards, missus thought the burger was really good. Female staff and service were excellent, atmosphere was pleasant until we left. Our 5yr old son exited first, just in front of me when a black Toyota Landcruiser parked in front of the door at speed, braking hard as he pulled up. I said it to the driver when he emerged from the vehicle and his reply was 'Sure when you own the place you can do what you want.' I thanked him for this piece of information as that was all it took for me to instantly decide we would not be back. Things deteriorated from there and an angry exchange ensued with him blaming the child for being on the path. I told him that we just spent a hundred euro in there and he offered it back to us in jest. This is no way for the proprietor of an establishment to conduct himself and from what I understand it's not the first time. (Isn't that right, 'Feathers'?) Contempt for customers visiting for a family meal should never go unanswered and I would encourage anyone reading this to drive passed the door and turn left at the next junction. Donegan's Monasterboice Inn is just a short drive away and you will not regret...
Read moreWatters restaurant is a hidden gem that left us utterly enchanted. Our dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary. Brazz's choice, the chicken wrap, was a symphony of flavors that danced on the palate, while Dee's plaice dish was a seafood masterpiece that transported us to the ocean's depths. Munich's turkey and ham were a savory delight, exquisitely prepared.
But it wasn't just the food that captivated us; it was the remarkable service that truly made our evening memorable. Our waitress was not only efficient but genuinely lovely and engaging, adding a personal touch to our dining experience that elevated it to new heights. Her warm demeanor and attentiveness deserved every bit of the generous tip we left.
What's more, the prices at Watters restaurant were refreshingly reasonable, proving that exceptional dining need not come at an exorbitant cost. Watters is a place where delectable cuisine, exceptional service, and affordability come together in perfect harmony. A hidden treasure that should not remain...
Read moreReview of the cafe only - Absolutely shocked at a horrible service. Had to find the back of the cafe ourselves. Made feel so uncomfortable by an older member of staff. No menus handed out. Basically had to ask server if they served what we wanted.... then was told by the server (seems like a nice girl) that she had to get someone else to take our food order...ordered coffee then with her. No one came near us with coffees or menus or take our order. Ending up just leaving. An older waitress cleaning the tables was sighing and huffing at us and interrupted our server to correct her... ending up that she was actually incorrect. Seemed like we were nothing but a nuisance when we just wanted a bit of grub on our way home. There was not a soul In the place near us... not like they were busy. Wish I could...
