Mrs. A & I went to the pub this past Friday to enjoy some local Irish music & we were NOT DISSAPOINTED ! we had stopped in earlier in the week to enquire & the bar keep (I believe) told me they had entertainment Thursday - Tuesday & that on that on that Thursday evening it started @ 9.00pm. We arrived @ 8.15pm, only to find out that on the weekends the entertainment started @ 9.00pm. Oh well, nothing another pint wouldn't solve. turns out that we were glad we arrived early, as by the lad's starting playing the place was PACKED ! It was not till we were getting ready to leave & visited the facilities that we realized that there was a HUDE covered patio out back c/w bar # 3. This area seamed to be much livelier, with a louder, younger crowd, including a lot of smokers. There were a duo playing some wonderful Celtic music (small accordion & guitar) unfortunately they served only as background to the crowd & we seemed to be the only patrons taking appreciation of their talents.
A MUST SEE, this truly quaint/traditional pub, either for the entertainment or just for a drink, The fire that greets you upon entry to the front bar will warm your bodies & probably your...

Venture through the bar to the rear and a sprawling beer garden greets you which then morphs into a large marque with hanging vines, plenty of tables and chairs and gas fired flaming heaters. The ales are grand, the snacks crispy and the...
Read moreI love this pub. I had my first ever pint here many years ago and it hasn't changed one bit since. Don't expect any airs or graces here as it's a what you see is what you get kind of place. It is full of character with paintings and sketches all done by the owners wife. It's a great place for traditional music and full of locals and tourists alike especially during the summer months. They do one or two craft beers so don't expect much of that is your thing. Michael and his family will male you feel very welcome. The toilets are very basic but clean and free from...
