Sweep Bar Kilmeaden Located on the N25 in Kilmeaden just outside Waterford City. Plenty of parking is available outside, including designated disabled spaces. , and the entire premises is wheelchair accessible. A Traditional Irish Pub. It retains its traditional feel with thatched roof and traditional decor.inside without feeling like a theme pub. Very comfortably furnished, and although I have only ever really been here for food and not drinks, I would imagine that it is a comfortable bar for a drink after the food service has finished. The service here is good. The staff are quick and efficient, in getting you seated, menus handed out, taking orders and bussing tables. The Sweep can get very busy at peak times, a testament to their great food offering. Good quality ingredients and plentiful, representing good value for money. There is a great selection of menu items for both breakfast and lunch. Breakfast offers the traditional fry, but also, pancakes, scrambled eggs, ommlettes, scones. Something for everyone (except those that like Granola) Their lunch offering is as varied with the traditional fayre of a roast dinner to steak sandwiches , and seafood options, with daily specials. The prices here are average, but you do get a good meal for your money, so definitely...

Have visited the Sweep bar a number of times over the past few months. First visited to sample their breakfast menu. Sausages, hash browns, beans and toast were stunning. Didn’t really like the white pudding or the rashers (a bit too thick for my liking). Strangely, they only have Chef Brown Sauce and no other type. I requested YR but they don’t do it. But, the pots of tea just keep coming so can’t grumble. Really excellent value. Visited for lunch a little while ago and had the Quesadillas (Mexican wraps). They were enormous and would feed two people! Spice was right on and chicken was cooked well and was delicious. Full of peppers and onions, really nice. The service is excellent. Waiting staff are friendly and very talkative. Really welcoming place. The background music is always the best of the 70s/80s - totally fine by me and good to enjoy your food to. I really enjoy visiting the Sweep and would thoroughly...

Visited on a busy Bank Holiday Monday and the food was excellent. Turkey and ham, roast beef and cottage pie all absolutely delicious. Star dropped just because of very long waiting times, first to be seated , then to have the order taken and then for the food to arrive which we really weren't expecting for a carvery lunch. To be honest, it was frustrating but we all agreed that when the food arrived it was well worth waiting for! Appreciate the staff were all doing their best on a very busy day but my suggestion would be for them to let people know clearly upon arrival roughly how long they can expect to be waiting. Then customers can either choose to go elsewhere if they are under a bit of time pressure (like we were!) or to relax and...

I had the best fish pie ever at The Sweep on the 4th June! I was truly delighted with my choice because it was flavoursome, creamy, full of fish and served in deceivingly large portions covered in fluffy mash - my picture does not do it justice! My partner was equally pleased with his roast beef lunch which was tender, tasty and plentiful - always a winner for him! We were fortunate that it was a beautiful day and could sit outdoors with our dog. The staff member who served us could not have been more helpful and he was quick to offer a cool bowl of water (with ice 😊) for Teddy. An excellent experience overall and one that I can thoroughly recommend!

Dropped in here on the way back from the Suir Valley Railway visit and am I glad I did. The food overall was good but the chips were excellent beating in my mind the famous Burdocks chips. Here's hoping it wasn't just a one off. Staff too were friendly, helpful and attentive. Place also looked well cleaned. RV+5
