We came in today, sat outside at the table 501 ( table beside the main entrance). Went inside to ask whether we should order there or wait for someone to serve us. Man at the reception informed me that if we are sitting outside they “prefer” us sitting in area that is beside the road. I did not want to sit there as it’s windy and noisy and crowded while the tables beside the entrance were just fine. Literally just beside the entrance. So I approached the bartender who was more than happy to serve us there and was there in 2 minutes. I ordered one Moretti and shandy and asked for the menu. While the young lad was very nice and polite it surprised me he could not name the list of their beers. He came back in 2 minutes informing us, again, we can’t order food there. He said we can order drinks but if we want food we need to go sit behind the corner, practically at the next table. He could not explain to us why but he was very polite and apologised for that few times. After all it was not his fault. We waited 15 minutes for the beers when we decided enough is enough and we are leaving. I decided to go in and wanted to speak with the manager. The man at the reception told me he is the manager. I told him we are waiting 15 minutes for 2 beers outside and we are not waiting any longer and I want to know why they can bring us beer there but not the food. His reply? The beer being served by bartenders and food by waitress 🤦♀️ I asked him why can bartender serve table 501 and waiting stuff can’t. I asked few times but I was not given an answer. Instead of him explaining it to me he accused me of attacking him and not listening to him. So I asked again: there is area outside and you are telling me you only serve food behind the corner, and not beside the door( which is closer?) so my question is, can the waiting stuff walk around or not? I told the manager I am going to this restaurant for more than 10 years and not once we have been told we can’t sit somewhere or won’t be served somewhere so I asked since when they serve people outside only if they sit beside the road? He said the rule was brought up 3 months ago and it was his decision. I told him that rule is stupid as to force someone to sit beside the road to eat their food if they are not comfortable there for already mentioned reasons (not to mention it was crowded and busy there and going home I did not see empty table there anyway) IT’S STUPID as he as a manager should care more about his customers being comfortable and satisfied, to which he replied that I am the only one who thinks it’s stupid and he is not arguing with me anymore. Well, sir, and owners of the Fitzpatrick restaurant, you lost yourself a loyal customer today. I used to come to Fitzpatrick restaurant when it was owned by original owner, knew their staff who were working there for years, and experienced nothing but the best service and food. I came back during the covid time as soon as the place was open, and even when the place was sold out to the new owners I still was loyal to ‘MY’ Fitzpatrick and singing praises about the place to everyone I know. Not from today. Today I experienced mediocre service, terrible customer service in a place being run by an ego driven manager who doesn’t value customers and if me and my money are not appreciated I have no reason to spend them there, specially in the time when everyone think twice where and how to spend them.
I saw the waiter coming with beers at the end of my argument with manager and I stopped him to tell him don’t even bother as we are leaving. We ended up going to The Glyde Inn in Annagassan and had good food and great service. I will not step one foot inside Fitzpatrick restaurant ever again if this man is running the place and of the owners don’t care about their customers and the service they are being provided with. P.S: attached are the pictures of us sitting outside today and pictures of us there while ago, being seated and served food outside at the table even further away from the table we...
Read moreMy fiance' and I went to Fitzpatrick's for dinner on the day he proposed to me. When he made the reservations, he had left a note saying pre engagement (that I was not aware of). When we arrived, Siofra (we believe her name was) gave us a few options of where to sit since it wasn't too busy. After choosing our seat, we ordered our drinks and appetizer along with our meals. Multiple employees came to check on us and make sure we were taken care of. Siofra came and asked if we would like any dessert, but we were so full from our delicious dinner we said no. After leaving the table, my fiance' said he wanted to leave them gratuity for the excellent service and I completely agreed. Upon paying the bill, Siofra began to make small talk with us. We told her we just got engaged and she was very excited to share that the staff had made a dessert plate for us. She brought it out along with another employee. It was a plate with writing 'Congratulations' in caramel along with a small cup of vanilla ice cream. We were both SO appreciative of the service and thought put into a dinner. That day was very special to me, getting engaged, spending the day out with my fiance' and then finishing the night with a fantastic dinner along with excellent and thoughtful service and conversation. This is the second time we have been to Fitzpatrick's as I live in America and travel here to see my Irish partner. Both times we have gone the food was 10/10 and the service was even better. I loved this restaurant already but now it will hold a special place in my heart as not only a nice dinner on my engagement day, but lovely service from Siofra and the...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing place. The food was amazing. We had a starter and mains and were not disappointed at all.Definately going back.Absolutely loved the interior decor. The staff were super friendly. They also had the halloween theme and all this decor. The place was buzzing with families coming to check the decor. But even though it was busy the service was very fast. 27/09/24 went back with my partner because we liked it last tine we were there. Different experience...and not for the better. Positives: the food was still amazing(though l wish they would state that the wings a buffalo). The steak was absolutely amazing, perfectly charred though it was closer to well done than medium well(which is how l asked for it).The lady that was serving us was absolutely the nicest, very pleasant, amazing people skills(lm sorry l didnt get her name). NEGATIVES: I understand halloween is a busier time for them but l would think they would make provisions and get more staff.Took a while to be seated. The lady we initially met at the entrance had a bit of an attitude. We could see empty tables but she sat us at the very back..which was hot and stuffy(windows were closed) and we were wearing warm because outside was freezing. So they need to work on their ventilation especially given how packed the place gets.I dont think l would go back simply based on the atmosphere (stuffy and hot and...
