Thank you so much to all the team at Surf & Turf, East Cork Golf Club for hosting our wedding reception!

Kasia and the girls were so easy to deal with, making an overwhelming time so much more relaxed. Myself and my husband got married abroad then honeymooned for nearly a month and only had a week at home to organise the reception. I believe if it was any other venue it would have been a nightmare. But the staff were so cool and calm, there was no fear! The decorations, layout and food was beyond perfection. All the guests, (including two professional chefs!) were blown away by how good the food was and how much of a selection we had in the menu. It was the talk of the evening (maybe even outshined the bride and groom! 😂) Every little detail and idea we had for our Japanese themed wedding reception they listened carefully and made our vision a reality, in fact even better than we imagined. My only regret is not relaxing more and trusting them to take over everything, they really knew exactly what to do to make the day perfect. We couldn’t fault a single thing, honestly! To be fair was sour sweet our visit. We love going out during weekends. Service was outstanding. The lady super kind and professional. Food was lovely. Why three stars. I asked for the sea food chowder, my surprice was, there was bacon on it. I strictly asked if there was pork/cow/chicken, they told me no. Anyway, my anger comes for the price of my main dish, a curry chicken for 18 euros, is fine, I asked another alternative vegetarian or fish, they brought me a curry with prawns, 4-6 prawns, I did not pay attention, at the till, the plate was 28 euros! 28 euros for a curry dish at lunch! Jeez! Castlemartyr resort, fota, cornhouse, etc etc. 80 euros total bill with no alcohol, (we are out of alcohol). My wife and two daughters recently dined here having done so more than once before. However, our experience left us not wanting to go back this time. The service wasn't great and the food lacklustre to say the best. My daughters were happy with their kiddies menu food but my wife ordered the chowder for starters and it comprised mostly of celery - isn't that supposed to be a fish soup? Her main course was no better with the sauce having split to leave a watery and semi curdled appearance - wholly unappetising. My main, when it did come out was not what I had ordered (the surf and turf) and the turf that did arrive was not even as I had ordered. The restaurant had some other tables full but certainly was not what one would call busy.
