This place is a prime spot so it is as busy as it gets. This is why it surprises me how little effort is being made to keep the main restaurant good looking.
The tables and chairs are random and ancient, inner restaurant has dim light, not in a good way. Have to wait quite a while to get seated. I understand that the building was not meant to be a restaurant originally but sure put in extra lights, decorations and decent looking furniture. Toilet is green and looks older than me, some cheap paint job as well.
Loads of focus on the cake cabinet, at least that looks good. The food is generally very good, sandwiches are really nice but the chicken wings could be sourced from somewhere else.
Staff are kind most of the time but we had some strange reactions when we asked for a few different things like "No." and that's it. They don't seem to be aware of messy tables either. I've been here a few times and there's ALWAYS something forgotten about the order.
Prices would be reasonable if the bad things weren't there.
Extra: don't count and divide the tips in front of customers, looks very...
Read moreI was here on Monday with the hubby, he ordered soup which was lovey, I ordered coffee and a cake ..... firstly I asked was the cake fresh cream which I was told it was, that was all well and good. The waitress arrived out with the coffee and cake, I took a fork full of the cake only to realise it was stale with a big long hair in it 🤢 I called the waitress over to explain my horror, She says she would get me something else, which was fine ........15 minutes later I was still waiting, eventually the waitress came back to me to say she spoke with her manager and just to let me know it wasn’t hair it was something synthetic....... I was mortified because I felt she was saying I put it there. I have never been so embarrassed in all my life, needless to say I will never be back or recommend it to anyone ever. And for the record the waitress in question needs to be trained on people skills. Very bad...
Read moreThe Cowhouse Cafe & Bistro is a really nice spot in Courtown. It’s beside the Greens Farm Shop and is a great place for lunch and breakfast. There is few reasons why it just personally isn’t my favourite restaurant: it closes to early at 4pm because personally I would definitely go for dinner there but you can’t, the kids meal portions are way to small we had to order an extra portion of chips because it was too small and the food took a lot longer than expected and it wasn’t that busy. However the food was really tasty and the staff were very helpful and friendly. I got the Caesar salad with chips and it was so nice, the croutons in it were kind of garlicky and I loved it. I’ve been before for breakfast and it is also very nice and close to lots of mobile and holiday parks. I love the food and maybe the service speed will have changed by next time so I...
