|We had an autistic child with us who was unsettled as he seen the balloon decorations in the premises, he obviously wanted to try get them. We were trying to get him relaxed and we were approached by a male member of staff and asked if we would like some drinks. That was ok until I ordered my drink and he walked away from the rest of the people at the table without asking if they would like anything. My partner tried to ask for something but the waiter proceeded to walk away, maybe he didn’t hear/understand but still he never asked the other members of the table.|At this stage a blonde waitress returned and asked if we were ready to order which we weren’t as the child was still very unsettled and kept trying to stand on the chair so we asked for a few more minutes. In the mean time the child then proceeded to get off the couch and try walk to them balloons, I am currently 7 months pregnant myself so I could not lift the child, so the child’s mother went out after him but the blonde waitress returned and done nothing but stare and throw looks at the child along with the man behind the carvery. ||In fairness they probably thought the child was just acting up but my partner apologized to her and tried to explain he was autistic and didn’t understand. The waitress probably didn’t understand herself as to be very honest she wasn’t listening. It was not a nice situation to be in and I wasn’t happy the way it was handled by staff with the dirty looks. The mother and the child had to go out and sit in the car while we proceeded to eat. ||The food was nice, but my partner wanted a carvery which he ordered off the waitress. But he seen the carvery chef standing there so he just asked if he had to go up or if it was going to be served to him as he was unsure. The chef said “whatever you want to do” and shrugged his shoulders, |so he went up and the chefs mask was on his chin for the duration of us being there which I didn’t think was nice considering he was serving the food. He was the rudest member of staff I came across there was no common curtesy of “your welcome, enjoy your meal etc” ||I did try to see if there was a manager available but I was just so annoyed the way we were treated today and it spoiled the day. Seems to be lacking in customer service as I’m in the industry myself and I know if I acted like that towards any of my customers I would loose potential business. ||I would never complain as I know how hard working with the public can be but I believe we were treated very poorly and I believe my opinion needed to be shared. |I definitely wouldn’t return in a hurry which is a pity as the food is nice. Just feel the staff could be more trained in customer service and recognize the signs of an autistic child. It’s hard enough without people...
Read morewe have booked our communion with them for about 30ppl. We were quoted 450 for platters or food for that group and I asked for an area where we can stay and have a couple of drinks without time restrictions. we have arrived and what was served to me and my guests was absolutely shocking and most likely embarrassing. we haven't got platters but normal dinner plates with couple of sausages and wedges that contained 2 mini tiny pizzas and 3 chicken goujons. when I spoke with owner I was told there be platters not plates containing wings, chicken, sausages, spring rolls and platters with sandwiches. next day I rang to query party for the same sized group and was told that plate is 12.5 and groups of 30 ppl would cost 370. when I asked the owner (who btw is most arrogant and rude and unpleasant person ever) I was told I was charged 100 service charge. didn't know that having place to sit and drink in pub is paid these days and he charged me to cut the cake. these charges he has made up on the day as he never mentioned them to me when booking the place. also food was stone cold! I asked him where the money went as we received max 10 plates each. and divided 450 / 12.5 would mean at least 30 plus plates. he robbed us in a broad daylight. horrible experience and those reviews stating how rude owner is are true. please see picture of the most expensive finger food platter sorry plate ever.Enda has not offered any solution not even a pint as good will gesture where he simply over charged us. Enda basically told me to bog off and that he can charge whatever he wants and...
