It takes an incredibly negative and disappointing experience to make me write a review. I ordered a very simple order from here around 8PM approx; A Spice Bag, Large Curry Sauce, and a portion of Egg Fried Rice, with two cans of coke. We collected the food in person, and then drove home to have it. Allow me to state here; The Staff members who serve the customers were incredibly nice to deal with. This review is not on them.
For clarity, the food cost approx 18 euro.
Upon plating the food, we were disappointed. Very basic things from a very basic dish were not present. There were no chillis or ''spice'' from the spice bag, the chicken was dry, flavourless and unedible, the chips were unevenly seasons, with the majority being unseasoned, and the curry sauce was thick, and did not taste like a standard curry sauce. In an attempt to correct this, we contacted the restaurant to address the issue, and were put onto the manager. The manager of this establishment very early on spoke over me, not allowing me to make the complaint, constantly told me that standard items like chillis, curry sauce etc. were not standard and must be requested, and that he could offer credit; we made it quite clear that based on the food, we doubt we'd return. After several attempts to make points, he continued to cut me off mid sentence, which is highly unprofessional. He agreed to make the food again closer to order and we returned to collect.
Upon collecting the new order, which visually looked better, I was told by the Manager, who informed me that he was a chef for 20 years, that he had no complaints from customers (which did not benefit me in this situation). I even asked what he cooked the chicken in, and his response was 'flour'. Upon returning home, we started to dish the new order up, and were equally disappointed; The chicken, while no longer being dry, was flavorless and plain (in a spice bag), the chips were unseasoned (in a spice bag), the curry sauce had been thinned using hot water. Once again, the order was substandard and poor.
I rang a second time to make a complaint, and as I had initially accepted the restaurant's offer of a replacement, I expected a refund, and was met with the most unprofessional and poor attitude from the manager not only refused to take any responsibility for his establishment disappointing customers, but continued to tell me he had no complaints and I was the only one (which from other reviews here is false as a similar post had the same issue, one month ago) told me he was not going to refund me as I received 36 euro worth of (inedible) food, and that HE was losing money. After almost five minutes of back and forth, he hung up the phone, but failed to correctly hang up the phone and I could still hear what I believe was him ranting about the phone.
I rang back again moments later to inform him that I would be up to return the food, he unprofessionally told he wont be giving me a refund, and to ''do what I want, call the guards'' shortly before hanging up a second time.
Overall, the expirience I had with the manager was the worst that I have ever had in any establishment; No responsibility taken, poor basic customer service skills, and frankly, a rude and unprofessional manager, in my opinion. All I wanted was a standard saturday night take away, and ended up with two orders of poor food fit for the bin.
After an expirience like this, even a one star is too far...
