Cafe de mode — Restaurant in The Municipal District of Tullow

We went in for breakfast, we were handed the menus. When one of the older waitress's came over she was asked if the do chips or wedges and we were rudely told that what is on the menu is what is on it and we don't do changes. One person could not make up her mind and the waitress was like we were putting her out and not very helpful. We ordered two breakfast's and scrambled eggs and bacon with two coffee's and a milk. when it arrived it was disgraceful the breakfasts was like what you would hand down to a dog and the same for the scrambled eggs and bacon. The bacon was chopped up like scraps and when they were asked if they could do the bacon not chopped up they said that is the way we do it and we will not change. that came from the man with glasses. The breakfast stack also came completely chopped up as though for a baby and the hash browns looked as though they came frozen from Tesco.The food tasted horrible. We could not eat it at all. The dirty looks from him and the older waitress's we received after that was as if we were dirt on their shoes. The younger waitress's were lovely and helpful. There was also no allergy advice on the menu's and as a person with bad food allergies this is not acceptable this is people's lives. The coffee was undrinkable, I have had better out of a...

Why,why,why do you serve the bacon ,sausage and black pudding chopped up? It is disgusting . What are you trying to hide?. I live locally and would love to be a frequent customer but this really turns me off. My husband and I decided to give you another try this morning. When he asked could he have the bacon,on the breakfast stack unchopped,the waitress explained,that's the way it comes. She did suggest he could skip the bacon and replace it with an extra sausage only to discover, when our plates did arrive, that EVERYTHING was chopped. I am sorry,this just gives off the wrong vibe. Fantastic cafe. Interior would not be out of place in Paris, in fact it's better than most I've seen (and I live in Paris) all down to excellent attention to detail and a perfectionist owner. Coffee is top notch, food is exquisite, and decor was rather talentedly arranged and styled by the owner and friendly face who welcomes all daily. Ballon and Carlow are very lucky in my opinion as I've not seen the likes in Dublin. I lived I Rathmines and a place like this could be...
