Went there for the first time a bit late for the lunch time service, but we were served. We both had a nice half larger & lime and had our meal which was freshly cooked but worth waiting for. It was very clean throughout. The two ladies that served us were very nice and attentive without being overly so. My wife and I were very pleased with our meal and it would be hard to find fault. Of special interest, it is Disability friendly if you have a physical disability and if you have a Hidden Disability as I have and wear a lanyard showing it which the staff seemed to know. I had booked a table for 11 for lunch and we had a really excellent time. We were given a large table in the restaurant rather than the bar so we could sit together. The menu was extensive with plenty of vegetarian options and the prices were good. Our waitress was super-efficient and friendly (the two don't always go together) and everyone, including our special guests from the USA, really enjoyed the food. Great old fashioned pub. Quite quirky. Really friendly staff and great choice of food. We had a beef Sunday lunch and a gammon Sunday lunch. Lots of vegetables, a great Yorkshire pudding ( home made) and the meats were plentiful and beautifully cooked. Knickerbocker glory and lemon meringue to finish.
