we had high hopes when we were seated an english speaking waitress assisted us salads were brought the selection was amazing she said if we needed help to ask for her another waiter came to take our order i ordered and pointed on the menu my order of chicken skewers my husband needed clarity on some beef choices neither the waiter or his manager could explain the difference in any kind of english we asked for the other english speaking girl but he couldn't find her?? he chose shish kabob we got the skewers quickly except that mine was chicken livers i sent it back he ate his beef skewer which was a bit salty but cooked to perfection it was 30 min later when the waiter came by and said "you didn't get the chicken yet? one minute" TWENTY minutes later he came back and i at that point said i didn't want it anymore my stomach was turning i was so upset!!!! he said "fine to make up for it because it was our fault can i give you a dessert on the house?" he came back 10 min later with a chocolate cake which was very good i asked for check i was appalled! he charged me 55 shekels which is the amount for salads if not ordering dinner! i said "wait i ordered a meal i was prepared to eat the chicken skewers i waited at least 45 minutes after my husband got his food it was not MY intention to not eat the chicken it was their lack of service in not replacing the chicken livers with regular chicken skewers in a reasonable amount of time he said that i had to pay the 55 shekels cause i didn't eat a dinner then he said "and you took our free dessert"! wow he offered the dessert saying he wanted to make up for their mistake well it wasn't free or an apology if he's charging me 55 shekels for the salads i refused to pay the 55 shekels ultimately he removed the charge i will never go there again and cannot recommend the place to anyone i am not one to write reviews but this...
Read moreNice place. Wasn't feeling at first as I walked in snd there was no one to tell reservations (albeit plenty of space we didnt really need them).
My friend really wanted to check this place out as the other place up thr street is usually very busy. I was hesitant as I wanted a simple quiet night.
The service was for the mist part pretty good, they even gave us a shot of Johnny Black to make a L'Chaim.
The salatim very fresh, tasty and plentiful. I could not get them all in one shot also they keep bringing more things, like grilled veggies and later on (not pictured here) chips. Also this is the first place ive gotten hummus w/o an extra charge - only thing missing, which I didn't ask about was rice and beans, but we had kore then plenty.
Out came a hot fluffy laffa, and got busy. Before u know it our skewers came. For me 2 pargit, my friend got 2 kebabim.
I don't tend to order meat dishes in a new place, i like to try it out first, so i was happy my buddy git them.
Pargit, nicely cooked, sotlft, tender, juicy, flavorful ;). Surprisingly the kebabim were soft and fluffy, however they could've used a little bit more flavor- ny friend suggested kore parsley - the couple pieces of pargit of mine he tried he liked much more.
Skipped dessert, too full and just not in the mood. I know right, who's not up...
Read moreI went there with my wife last night, just the two of us. The food was great! If you're not familiar with Israeli Eastern Family-style restaurants, they always begin by filling your entire table with many plates of "salatim". These are complex preparations of vegetables, sauces and spices that act as both appetizers and side-dishes or even mixins for the main course. They also go great with the fresh flat bread they are served with. Ezra's eggplant dishes really impressed me, and their tehina and hummus were great too. Very much new flavors, and a pleasure to the palate. Not all is perfect: their Turkish salad was a little watery, and the schug was too salty to my taste. That being said, I totally for finished the Turkish.
My main dish was a skewers of geese hearts. They were good. As was my wife's platter of spiced chicken.
Very family friendly, but call ahead to reserve a spot!...
