Garlic chili pesto גרליק צ'ילי פסטו — Restaurant in Kafr Kasim

The pasta was a welcome surprise. In a land where great pasta is scarce, this spot delivers. It is no Rome or Brooklyn but it beats “La Cucina Pasta Bar” in Ramat Gan and costs 30 percent less. Clean, air conditioned, and open on weekends. Just know you will need to find street parking nearby.

We have visited this village for years and always felt welcome. Never once made to feel like outsiders. That is why this experience was so strange. We ordered to go and were told to wait outside. The Arab locals remained inside. This has never happened before, not here or anywhere in the village. We do not want to generalize but it felt like we were the only non Arabs and the only ones asked to leave.

GCP is well located and has great service! Our server helped us decide on our meals and at the end of the meal asked if we wanted dessert and coffee. We asked if they had baklava and he sent one of the young service across the street to get us a plate of various baklava like pastries! The baklava was on them! They were so gracious and hospitable. We visited this place yesterday, despite a review mentioning allegedly discriminatory behavior. The waiters were actually welcoming and friendly from the start, and the pasta was really tasty, plus the prices are fair. If I ever had doubts about the staff’s attitude toward me, I’d much rather ask or address it directly than assume something negative. I’d definitely come back to try...
