קונה סושי — Restaurant in Modiin-Maccabim-Reut

Good restaurant, with surprising flaws. Overall the food was good and a little bit expensive and the service was average. The salmon dishes (sushi and tataki) were superb. The fish&chips were excellent, but in my opinion they should make it just from white fish. The sushi sandwich was average. The restaurant is probably more for takeaway then diners and yet, the seating area is ridiculously simple and small - not inviting at all. The waiters are standing behind the counter and coming to you just to bring the food. The toilet had no paper towels and the waiters didn't offer paper napkins. I will say that the waiters...

English after hebrew: על הפנים. אכלנו שם לאחרונה (הגברת ואני). אני הזמנתי את הפיליפינית החריפה ואשתי את (סושי) הקומבינציה החריפה. הסושי היה גרוע ומבאס, וגם מתומחר גבוה מאוד (99 ש"ח למנה לאדם יחיד): הדג לא היה טרי, והאצה הייתה כמו גומי (קשה לנגיסה ואלסטית מאוד). המנה שלי הייתה אכילה, אבל לא טובה בשום מובן. מה שחשוב הוא שסבלתי מכויות כימיות בפה ודלקת בלשון למשך כשבוע: לא יכולתי ללעוס כמו שצריך, לא יכולתי לדבר כמו שצריך (הלשון הייתה נפוחה מאוד), עדיין יש לי כיבים בחיך ובחניכיים, שקדים מוגדלים וכואבים וסבלתי מקשיי שינה. אני אדם שרגיל לאכול חריף ועושה זאת על בסיס קבוע- לכן אני חושד במרכיבים מאיכות נמוכה או חוסר אחריות בהכנת האוכל.

NOT GOOD. We (the lady and I) have eaten there recently. I ordered the Spicy Philippine and my wife took the spicy sushi combination. -The sushi was terrible and overpriced in an exaggerated manner (99 NIS for a single person portion): fish wasn't fresh and the seaweed was like rubber. My dish tasted edible, but not good in any way. More importantly I suffered chemical burns in my mouth and a tongue inflammation for a whole week: couldn't chew right, couldn't speak right (tongue was very bloated), had ulcers on my palate an gums, swollen and aching tonsils and difficulty sleeping . I am an individual who is accustomed to eating spicy food and I do it on regular basis- so I suspect low quality ingredients or an irresponsible...

Kona was simply amazing, the sushi was divine and the service from Yarden and the rest of the team was not only friendly but extremely helpful as well. For the Anglos don't fret they have menus in English on site for your convenience!!! See you soon again Kona,...
