Kisu used to be my 5-star favorite restaurant that I would always recommend to people, but over the past year it has become a mediocre experience for me, as the quality of service seems to have declined noticeably, contrary to the prices which keep going up every year.
Make no mistake, the food made by Kisu is excellent. However, the slowly accumulating service issues slowly make the experience less than satisfactory.
Over the last 10 deliveries we've ordered, 8 arrived with missing components, 2 arrived with missing dishes, and all of them arrived with plastic utensils even though we specifically marked to receive the delivery without them. (via 10Bis, the website we ordered though)
The staff deny unannounced reductions in dish portions: Today we ordered a dish called Kushu Tofu, which is accompanied by a unique sauce. Until very recently, the amount of sauce provided with the dish used to be at least around 200ml, whereas today we received less than 100ml. When we called the staff to ask about the reduced amount, they claimed it's been this way for a very long time, even though just last week we received a larger portion.
Lastly, it seems that the restaurant is too understaffed to handle the amount of customers it attempts to serve at once. Multiple times while sitting at the restaurant, it took over 10 minutes to receive attention from the staff to make an order. Another day when ordering a delivery, when it arrived with a missing dish, it took about 20 minutes of waiting on the phone to receive an answer, with a couple cases of the line disconnecting at the 6 minute mark. By the time the restaurant picked up and offered to supplement the missing dish, the rest of the family had already finished eating.
I've loved this restaurant and eaten there often ever since its opening, but it seems that its management and service has been declining, and so until I hear that things change for the better, I will look elsewhere for...
Read moreBest sushi in the area by far Everything we ordered was delicious Special roles are excellent A bit expensive and really busy but is a must for sushi lovers 👌
Returned there with friends
TL;DR Very good sushi but expensive
Got our reserved table with menus - service is very good here you don't need to wait.
We ordered: Martini Lychee - was nice. A glass of la vie white wine - was nice but not much wine at 50 nis you can give more then 1/5 glass. A glass of Bogel red wine - was nice. A bottle of water.
Starters: Tuna tartar - was nice but a warning you get a plate with ingredients and need to build it yourself - not for everyone. Popcorn Shrimp that was a large dish with shrimps curled to balls in a nice sauce really tasty. Kimchi a very small bawl that can hold an ice cream scoop. Mini Seaweed Mix - same small bowl with some seaweeds - doesn't worth the money.
Sushi: Lemon Twist Sashimi Roll Out of Control Mizumi Roll Sashimi Roll Purple Rain All was very good.
For dessert: cortado. Kremo chocolate and caramel - very good.
We ended up with 900 nis service included - not cheap.
Parking is available on 2 large parking lots on both sides of the area one is paved and...
Read moreHave been to this restaurant tens of times (maybe even a hundred times). This place is really special. The meals are just the best, best ingredients, best served, and unique tastes. If you plan to come here on weekend nights you must reserve a place. I’ve once tried to arrive on a Thursday night without reserving a place, and I had to wait 2.5 hours on the waiting list. For me, It seems like the place is always on rush hours. From my experience and visits through the last years, in the last years the prices of the meals were increased a couple or maybe more times. When reviewing the menus photos make sure to notice that. The restaurant team is very nice and fair, if a meal is delayed or takes a lot of time to arrive, they handle the situation properly and nice. This is one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Israel, and I highly recommend it, and the tips I must give in my opinion - is to make sure to reserve a place ahead of time, and also make sure to know the price ranges of the meals before visiting the restaurant. I...
