Chin Up! "Al nido del falco" — Restaurant in Abriola

we (a couple of tourists) ended up here by chance, when planning a hike in the National Park of the Appenino Lucano from Potenza on Easter Monday, and looking for an eating place half way after the exercise. WhatsApp and DeepL helped us arrange a reservation (Italian was not in our luggage) while learning that there would be a single multi course lunch menu that day. What an event! Like other enthusiastic reviewers we were overwhelmed by the welcoming atmosphere, and especially the energy of Paola who cooked a splendid sequence of delicious dishes for a full house of families! The next day, having forgotten a pair of reading glasses, we were nicely received by that same Paola, even though the restaurant was actually closed, and she looked relaxed despite all the efforts of the previous day and even offered a coffee! Whow!- there must be a secret source of energy in that wonderful location! Thanks for all, and wishing you lots of visitors to enjoy everything this place...

A true gem of a restaurant located comfortably amidst the gorgeous mountains of the Basilicata region. The food is fantastic; fresh and delicious, with homemade touch and flare. The atmosphere is super cozy and warm, making you feel welcomed as soon as you enter. The raviolis were by far some of the best I have ever had, as was the Caciocavallo (cheese) starter. The small cabins on the property look very peaceful and well maintained. I would very much like to return for an overnight stay at some point, and would not hesitate to bring a group here for a weekend event. Un posto dell’anima chiamato “Chin Up - Il Nido del Falco”

Ci sono luoghi che si visitano… e poi ci sono esperienze che si vivono con l’anima…. Bene, il mio soggiorno al Nido del Falco, incastonato tra le meravigliose montagne della Sellata, in Basilicata, è stato molto più di una semplice mini-vacanza: è stato un vero e proprio abbraccio. Tonino e Paola, i padroni di casa, sono persone decisamente rare, di quelle che ti fanno sentire subito a casa, che ti accolgono con il cuore in mano e un sorriso sincero. Due anime belle, che con passione e dedizione stanno portando avanti un sogno che profuma di natura, autenticità e calore umano. Con Paola ho condiviso chiacchierate che mi porterò dentro: profonde, genuine, ricche di storie, tradizioni, cultura e sogni … Una donna speciale, che sa aprirti un mondo con semplicità e grazia. E Tonino? Una forza della natura, presenza gentile e ironica, sempre attento, sempre lì, con quel tocco unico che rende tutto più bello (e guai a non dire che anche lui mette mano in cucina!). A proposito di cucina… Tutto Made in Paola e Tonino: sapori veri, piatti deliziosi e preparati con amore. Ma soprattutto ogni morso raccontava un piccolo viaggio nei profumi e nei gusti della Basilicata più vera. Le baite? Un incanto. Immersi nel verde, in un silenzio che rigenera e un contatto con la natura che difficilmente si trova oggigiorno. E poi come non menzionare l’adorabile compagnia di Ugo, Billy, Ada, Giannetta, Boschetto… ognuno con la sua personalità, ognuno parte viva di questo piccolo paradiso! E come se non bastasse, ho ricevuto ( tra le altre ) anche una tenerissima premura prima della partenza, una di quelle attenzioni che ti scaldano il cuore e ti fanno capire che sei stata più che un’ospite. Non vedo l’ora di tornare, magari d’inverno, con la neve e la tinozza finlandese che già sogno di provare. Un posto dell’anima, dove chi arriva come ospite riparte sentendosi parte della famiglia.
