I travelled with my parents and my grandmother and we took a quadruple room, but finally the owner change it for two double rooms without to charged us the difference. Good shower, but a little bit small in one of the rooms, in the other it was just a hole on the floor, but enough to take the water away. We arrived late in the night and the gps lead us to the village in a narrow road, but we need to ask in other hotel to get in the Rondanino, because the hotel is in the very top of the mountain in the small path. In the morning we realized so beautiful place it was, all the mountains around and a relaxing place.||The breakfast was nice.||This hotel is run for a family, and deserve to stay for at least three days to enjoy the area. The owner is a nice lady that takes care of everything.||||The only thing that we didn't like mainly was our fault. We arrived to the hotel too late to have dinner in other place, so the owner offered us four bowls of salad and a plate with cure meat (parma ham and other charcuterie) and other with cheese, because her kitchen was already close. The next day we saw the bill: 75 €, but like I wrote it... it was our fault not to ask the price :(. The rest was nice place and a good value...

Read moreA second review following a recent return trip. We stayed for a couple of weeks and enjoyed good food and a relaxing atmosphere in this family run hotel. Evening meals were varied - beef, lamb, boar, fish...plus vegetarian friendly food every night, on occasions it was "menu surprise" - we'd no idea what to expect, but always had a great meal. Worth noting the restaurant has received recogintion in the Michelin guide for a number of years, for serving regional cuisine. In terms of negatives, the rooms are basic, but I tend to sleep in hotel rooms rather than than view them as a destination in themselves. In summary, It's more like staying in a friends house than a formal hotel. ||||Location wise, you're not far at all from Lake Lugano or Lake Como. Activities in the local area include horse riding at the nearby Il Bivacco (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Centro-Ippico-Il-Bivacco-ASD/112707495520054) - which my kids loved. If you're into road cycling, there are phenomenal opportunities in the region as well as the chance of spotting some of the leading riders on the roads around Lugano. There's a good selection of hill walking in the...
