My partner and I stayed at Li Neuli as part of a trip to Sardinia last week. We were both really looking forward to our stay but have to say we were quite disappointed with the overall experience. The setting of the country club and the bungalows were really lovely, and we also really enjoyed the food and cocktails at the restaurant. It may have been the time of year, but the whole place was totally lacking in atmosphere, we seemed to be the only guests staying there and again there was nobody at the restaurant whilst we were eating dinner. What we found most surprising however was that there was no lunch or cocktails menus or wine list, and rather than being able to chose what we wanted to eat or drink we had to instead rely upon the waiter’s suggestions - Li Neuli advertise their wine cellar on their website which I was looking forward to experiencing but was not really able to. I ended up drinking two glasses of white wine selected by our waiter which I did not enjoy. We felt quite awkward not being able to select our own wine based on what we liked and also taking price into consideration. We were therefore forced to ask how much the wine cost which made us feel rather uncomfortable. Finally, my partner called in advance to notify Li Neuli that we had got engaged the day we were due to arrive, and for a 5* country club I would have expected them to say congratulations or something to make us feel a little bit special, but this was not the case and I would have expected more from a 5* country club. The tennis courts are also in really bad shape and I would be surprised if anybody could use them! Overall, we left Li Neuli feeling quite disappointed and would not go back based on...

Read moreEverything, we wish we could have stayed longer! The on-site restaurant, bar and private bungalows are beautiful and the service impeccable and highly personalized for guests. Excellent place if you are gluten free, they were so accommodating and I got to try GF versions of all the dishes.
The bartender is excellent with cocktails (try a Sardinian Negroni or Gin Martini) and this was the best food we’ve had on the island. The Parma Ham is ace. Bungalows are spacious and come with high quality sheets, towels and a fully stocked fridge. Breakfast is great and you should also stay for dinner and aperitivo one night. We’d love to come back and throw a party here, the space is intimate and romantic.
Li Neuli is only 10-15 minutes from Porto Cervo for those who want to shop known brands, otherwise head 6 minutes away to San Pantaleo for aperitivo at Caffe Nina, cute shopping, ice cream at Spun, and a Thursday arts market...
