Casa Volpi — Restaurant in Arezzo

Here, unfortunately, we were only disappointed. After we had booked and paid for a Superiore room, we were told that this room was no longer available, but only a Classico. When we entered the room, it turned out that this was a 3-bed room on the top floor directly under the roof, without any view. We had also booked a table in the restaurant. When we arrived for dinner, the first thing we were told was what was not available. The menus that were on the table were only told to us during the ordering process that they were not valid for the evening. When I then wanted to order a Chianti for dinner, we were also told that it was no longer available. We were not given a detailed account of the consumption that still had to be paid for. Conclusion: Everything is promised here and in the end nothing is delivered. Unfortunately, we have to say that we were taken for a ride here. Please avoid this place. They didnt tell me there is no food unless you decide to wake up early for breakfast whilst on holiday, no lunch provided either whilst they emailed me to let me know that breakfast was included and the restaurant open.. the room is like a noun's cell, full of insects and not cleaned up properly. No space to relax beside some tables, forget about the sunbeds advertised in the photos. The bathroom is quite a disgrace and cherry on top.. they locked me out! There is no night reception but they didnt gave me the keys to open the door, so I had to check all the windows of the house and find one I could open from the outside to climb in. Worst place...

Old mansion, well maintained and turned into hotel/restaurnt, overlooking a nice park.||||Rooms are more than adequate. We enjoyed (August 2016) a suite, with front and side windows. on cypresses, hills, etc.||||Just sitting in the room and looking at the dusk setting was a pictural experience to be enjoyed!||||Ad to this that the restaurant (outdoors on inside, if necessary) is exceptional, choice of Italian food, with some seldom found recipes, good wine list at reasonable prices.||||A very good choice to visit Arezzo and South East Tuscany. Just make sure that you come back early enough to benefit from the evening meal...
