Explored this little medieval village while traveling through Rome and found this cute restaurant. We asked for a table for 2 and there was only one other couple and they would not serve us. Great news is we went from there to Villa Pigna an amazing winery not too far away that was divine. But they were rude and obviously had capacity but did not want to serve...

Il luogo, già di per sé, è meraviglioso. Un antico borgo medievale, con tanto di rampa e austera porta di accesso, isolato a guardia della valle sottostante ed a pochissimi minuti da Ascoli. Soprattutto la sera l'atmosfera è magica, incantata e rilassante tra i chiaroscuri delle calde luci soffuse. Nella bellissima piazzetta del borgo c'è la Taverna del Longobardo: una antica costruzione tutta pietre a vista. All'interno piccoli accoglienti locali dalle pareti dai caldi colori con affreschi e vecchie travi di legno a vista. Antichi camini accesi, luci soffuse, semplici tavoli dal legno scuro, il tutto a rendere una gradevolissima rassicurante atmosfera dal sapore medievale e stranamente familiare. Ottimo il menù. Dall'abbondante antipasto di salumi, formaggi e fritti ai primi ed ai secondi di carne (tagliate, agnello, stracotto) per finire con buoni dolci della casa.Tutto abbondante, tutto ben cucinato e ben servito.
