Pizzeria Il Drago Verde — Restaurant in Assago

We were driving from Tuscany to Bologna and had planned to eat in Bologna. Two accidents on the highway caused major delay, we were hungary and since restaurants do close at a certain time in Italy, I just took the first exit after I realized that either we were going to find a place to eat as soon as possible or end up eating in the airport. Pian Del Voglio is a small village surrounded by marvelous nature. High mountains may make you feel like you are in Alps. Restaurant is run by a family. Owners were very accommodating to us with our 6 months old baby. We had bresaola, bocconcini di buffala and pasta. They were fresh and delicious. They have a brick oven pizzeria as well. Good wine selection, too. I will plan to go there again, next time i am driving that highway.

I've been searching for the best pizzeria in southern Milan and I think I found it. Il Drago Verde is truly an amazing pizzeria. I ordered 3 pizzas: 4 formaggi, 4 salumi (the best one in my opinion) and seafood pizza that was recommended to me by the employees. All 3 pizzas were absolutely delicious! Also, all pizzas there are made on real open fire! Along with pizzas, the incredibly friendly staff offered me complementary french fries. I also have to admit that prices in this pizzeria are awesome. Each pizza is about 9€, and its a large pizza. We were a group of 3 and ordered 3 pizzas (pizza per person). We were really full in the end. So the ratio of price to quality and price to size here is very good. Service was pleasant too. Like I said, staff was friendly and was open to have some fun conversations. They spoke good English too. Ambiance is fine, pizzeria is on the outside of Milan, in the suburbs so there isn't much fun stuff around it. But this also means that its very quiet and calm there. Not only is the pizza amazing but the people here make sure you don't just leave stuffed but also super happy and well cared for.

We felt very welcome here, although we're foreigners. The staff invited us inside even with a dog, and when the kids wanted to eat outside they turned on a fan to make it more bearable and immediately brought water for the dog as well.

Overall, the food is tasty, the people are very friendly and the place has a great welcoming vibe.
