I wanted to rate them as 0.1 star but unfortunately the minimum is 1. They absolutely ruined my holidays. Please read my message before going there. I’m living in the area for 10 years and around 7-5 years ago this restaurant was considered as the best. Because it was managed by husband. Now it’s managed by his wife and she absolutely doesn’t care about the quality of food and service. The only way to go there is by car, because it’s in the middle of the forest road. And they are kicking people out from their parking! They say that now it’s only for stuff, not like 7 years ago when you could park there easily. We had Xmas dinner 24th of December and there were just 3 tables busy, so parking was absolutely empty. Anyway the wife came out and tried to kick us out. I definitely was their best client 7 years ago going there almost every week from Monaco so I simply couldn’t believe I was at the same place. But it’s just the beginning of the story, because the food was horrible! Nothing to compare like it was many years ago. And the stuff was so weird. I organised it as a Xmas surprise for my bf and I was so ashamed. And also very upset because he didn’t like it at all. My Xmas was spoiled because of this place!! So please if you like good food think twice before going there, it’s way lower than Italian standards of eating. The only point is that it’s cheap. And that’s it. Don’t even spend your time going...

I wanted to love it, and there are lots of good things about Ca’ Mea, but overall I wouldn’t return.

The welcome is super warm and friendly. They accommodated me without a reservation, and delivered so many courses of a tasting menu so efficiently and smoothly that I lost count of how many I had. They were also careful to explain patiently (in English too!) what each dish was, and I felt very at home.

But despite a few exceptionally delicious elements (especially the local ricotta cheese, the porcini mushrooms, and the lemon sorbet), I generally found the meal to have an emphasis on quantity more than quality. The pasta was a little overcooked, the quiche was oily, the cheese soufflé was soggy, and the lamb was tough and chewy. The predominant colours are yellow, brown and beige.

I didn’t mention this at the time, because the staff are doing a wonderful job catering to so many people. And perhaps it depends what you’re looking for: if you want fine dining then look elsewhere, but if you prefer a warm, jolly atmosphere, and to go home with a bursting stomach after eating until you are full (after a €45 fixed menu), then it’s a good bet.

Thank you and apologies for a mixed review. You’re a...

Esperienza culinaria senz'altro consigliabile...

Nestled outside the town after a very Winding road . Parking across the street. What an amazing find.. these guys were completely flooded due to a collapsed “bridge” and land slide. They have recently reopened and it’s wonderful. The attitude of the people and the quality vs price point of the food excellent …fixed menus it just keeps coming…5 starters, risotto, pasta, lamb chops with porcini mushrooms and artichokes, dessert choices Including wine €40 p.p ..Such fun ! Just like eating in mammas kitchen. Reservations essential ( they were packed on a rainy Tuesday at lunch time)
