L' ancora Badolato — Restaurant in Badolato

I wish I could give this place - primarily the atmosphere - 10000x stars!

This restaurant is situated in such a gorgeous, unique little part of Badolato Marina. It is always FULL of the beautiful locals - who are always ready to eat, drink and be merry alongside us Brits!

The steak is absolutely incredible here - and the creamy sauce they have on top is simply stunning. It is incredibly cheap to both eat and drink here - however the food and drinks are top quality and I promise you will not be disappointed.

We have stopped here many times after a lovely stroll on the beach - and are always welcomed by the lovely Italian family who own the restaurant. Although we do not speak the same language - their warmth and friendliness speaks for them!

Went as a party of 8 with a reservation. Received a table set for 10 but without knives. Had to ask 4 times for knives (after the food was on the table!!), and only received 6 before asking a 5th time. One order was misunderstood and the wrong dish was served. After dining, we asked for the bill several times, and after 18 minutes we walked inside to pay at the till, as we were late for another arrangement. It didn't seem like an especially busy night, but maybe some waiters were in training. We had a dish with clams that had multiple closed clams, and 2 of our tables pizzas weren't on par with the Italian experience.

All in all a sub par dining experience, which is a shame as we had heard good things from the father of one of the...

It should be a good place where having some good food and fresh fish. We got there at 10.25 PM but the waiters told us the kitchen was closed (10.25PM August in the south of Italy !?!) and that only pizza was available. We accepted that, and meanwhile we have been waiting for the pizza, we saw dishes still reaching the tables for another 20 minutes with good looking fish hot food... quite disappointing ! An average Pizza, location normal, service disappointing. No more than 2...
