Pasticceria Colombo — Restaurant in Barasso

The best pastry shop in the area. Here some points and review category by category:

FLAVOR (pastry) Very nice. Not too sweet and too buttery. Just perfect. In additional the croissants are filled with delicate cream. We suggest to try the pistacchio one

SERVICE That’s the area where they need the biggest improvements. We do not feel they were understaff, but yet they were messy and unorganized. 1 manpower at the table, 1 at the bread area, 1 making coffee and 1 cashier. Despite that we preferred to stand rather than waiting too long at the table

PRICE Definitely worth it. Value for money. You can see the invoice in the pictures attached. The most expensive thing we had was a 4€ juice, but it’s justified since it’s home made.

BREAD It’s not a bread shop but they do provide a selection of bread. Nothing special to be honest. I would not...

It is a nice bar, where I regularly meet friends, especially after we have walked in the Campo Dei Fiore or nearby Gavirate paths. Our group that ranges from 7-8 women upwards to 12-15, and we enjoy a coffee or other beverage together. I especially like their cappuccino con canella (cinnamon). If we have worked up an appetite, we enjoy a delicious pastry in the morning, or a yummy gelato in the afternoon. Incuriosito dalla "pubblicità" positiva che ruota attorno alla pasticceria e abituato ad acquistare panettoni artigianali almeno per il giorno di Natale, quest'anno ho deciso di rivolgermi alla pasticceria Colombo. Ebbene, il panettone di Barasso è tra i più buoni che io abbia mai assaggiato, e credo di non essere l'unico a pensarlo. Il prodotto non ha nulla da invidiare a quelli delle più celebri marche di pasticceria che ho avuto modo di comprare negli anni passati e merita ogni riconoscimento che ha ottenuto. Il panettone ha un intenso profumo di vaniglia (visibile anche nell'impasto), un sapore dolce e vellutato e all'assaggio è davvero un prodotto di qualità altissima, non appesantisce, si scioglie in bocca e lascia un piacevole gusto sul palato. Un prodotto veramente eccezionale che mi obbliga, in futuro, a provare anche il pandoro. Unica pecca che giustifica le 4 stelle: l'organizzazione. Per avere il panettone ho chiamato a inizio dicembre con l'accordo di ritirarlo pochi giorni prima di Natale a Barasso. Il 22 dicembre, quindi, mi sono recato a Barasso, dove sono stato informato di dovermi dirigere a Comerio; arrivato lì, ho "saltato" la coda grazie alla prenotazione ma ho comunque dovuto attendere mezz'ora per ricevere il panettone. Non si trattava di un regalo, ma ho chiesto l'incartamento e il panettone è stato chiuso in un sacchetto di cartoncino che non rendeva assolutamente giustizia né al prezzo né alla qualità...
