My dad always told me, “You can always trust the bartender.” Tonight at Ristorante Cortefreda, that truth came to life through Paolo — even though we didn’t order a single drop of alcohol.

Paolo, who happens to have a background in chemical engineering, was both our server and the restaurant’s bartender — and yet, he welcomed our choice to stick with black Americanos without even a hint of judgment. His grace, warmth, and professionalism were a masterclass in hospitality.

What stood out most was his passion for the food. Every culinary recommendation he made was exceptional — thoughtful, balanced, and clearly rooted in deep knowledge and love for the cuisine. Paolo made us feel not just accommodated, but genuinely cared for.

We were in Italy for a week prior to heading to Tuscany. Cortefreda was one of the best meals we had. Every single dish was incredible. While they’re all so incredible I’d say go for the Saffron Risotto with the Osso Bucco, The Wild Boar Stew and the Truffle Gnocchi! Also don’t sleep on the Tiramisu. Just incredible! Siamo state accolte dal personale molto cordiale e sorridente.

Prenotando alle 12:45 ci hanno fatto scegliere il tavolo. Abbiamo scelto all'inizio della veranda.

Posto molto pulito, ordinato, rilassante e silenzioso per un pranzo con un rapporto qualità prezzo buono. È possibile usare anche gli yums accumulati con TheFork.

Abbiamo iniziato con l'entre, un piccolo pinzimonio di peperoni freschi e carote con olio molto buono; continuando con un antipasto di salumi del posto e formaggi (molto buoni anche i sottaceti), proseguendo con una tagliata di manzo ed il caciucco. Molto bello l'impiattamento. Semplice senza troppe sfarzosità.

Il vino Chianti della casa è altrettanto molto buono. È possibile acquistare il loro vino avendo una piccola catina. Lo consiglio.

Al termine del pranzo ci hanno consigliato di fare una passeggiata nel loro parco. Bello e curato. Anche la piscina è grande e pulita. Inoltre abbiamo visto che producono proprio loro il miele.
