We found this place by accident and was pleasantly surprised upon arrival. What a setting and what a view. But that is mostly what can be said for the experience. The food was mediocre and the service was great to start with, but slipped as the evening progresses. We had not booked the Gourmet (Michelin) experience, but rather the a la carte menu. The selection was varied and a bit off for a northern European. The starters were okay. My wife ordered a charcuteri board with cold cuts and some cheese. The waitress did not explain what each meat was so it was a bit of a gamble ...we like to know what we are eating. I had some potatoey omelette with chicken which was nice for what it was. As the waitress cleared out starter plates we were asked to look at the deserts and make a selection which felt like a really odd thing to do just before serving mains. We both ordered the same meat dish for mains, a cut of young female calf with seasonal vegetables. The dish was served on a hit plate so you could cook your meat longer if you did not want it rare. The dish was bland and uninspiring. It lacked any kind of seasoning and there were not salt and pepper on the table. The wines were good. We ordered a bottle of white wine and the waitress did occasionally top up out glasses from the ice bucket, but we had to get up and pour ourselves several times and at the end of the meal we had 1/2 a bottle left. There were only us and another couple dining outside this evening so it would have not been too much to ask that we were attended to more often. The deserts were bland and uninspiring despite the waitress doing a great job at talking them up. When I asked for the bill we had to wait quite a while for the manager (not the waitress ) to bring us the bill. When I indicated that I wanted to pay by card, I was requested to come all the way back to an office where payment were taken... a really bizarre experience. Why not just take the payment with a card terminal at the table. We would love to come back for the location, but the food and service needs to improve. Rooms not rated as we did not...

UPDATE: Writing an update to my review almost one year later. For the past 3 years I have reserved for my birthday. This year I tried another local restaurant (check other reviews) and it was a disaster. Left me feeling bad. So I decided to lift my spirits and reserve for a belated birthday with my family and we went and enjoyed ourselves as always. We were seated outdoors but there were too many insects (that is normal) for my liking. The owner promptly and gladly accommodated us inside. All 3 courses, wine, dessert and a little birthday bite was such a redemption and I left remembering why I always book this place to celebrate my special occasions. Thank you to Elisa, Michele and the wonderful staff. See you again soon!

Wonderful establishment: restaurant and boutique hotel or maybe classified as a bed and breakfast. I’ve been to the restaurant a few times now and we always enjoy the creative high-end surprises from the tasting menu. Always flavorful, always a lovely presentation. Always more than you thought possible. The restaurant and hotel is situated on the backdrop of a lake, a very beautiful scenery early in the morning and for sunset. We have stayed once at the hotel and it is well appointed with luxury micro amenities - soaps and other things. The bedding was lux and comfortable. Comfortable and enjoyable overall. We spent some time in the garden in the back. It really is beautiful — you must have a car to arrive to and explore the area around this place. There is no place to walk to; or even any activities to do while at the hotel. I thought a salt water pool, a tennis court, or something recreational would be spectacular here. You can find these things in località nearby. Overall,...

Disappointing and overpriced. They fail completely on the food. While wanting to be creative and good, the result is food that is unimaginative, bland to the point of lacking flavour, pretentious and that leave you wondering if any one in the kitchen has really tasted it before putting the dish on the menu. Most of the ingredients don't blend together even if they were supposed to do so. Service is friendly and nice even if they seem to try too hard to be classy. Only strong note, that made me out 2 stars instead of one, great variety of breads and great Normandy butter. We have been in more that 100 Michelin star and acclaimed restaurants, and for sure this is among the worst ones. It is even below par with many other normal restaurants. The experience is totally not worth the price .. well I would say any price...
