Osteria "la Cruccola" — Restaurant in Baschi

This is a small and quaint restaurant tucked in the rural hills of Umbria, and I'm in love with it.

A young couple named Giulio and Gemma now own La Cruccola and they make an amazing pair, providing the high quality food and service that the people of Acqualoreto have been accustomed to for several years. Their partnership is impressive on many levels.

Giulio welcomes the customers with incredible warmth while his wife Gemma creates the dishes that they're both rightly proud to serve. There is no written or typed menu or stated price, but don't be afraid. It's all very affordable and the menu that Giulio shares verbally is small and easy, often two to four different dishes per course category.

The ingredients are from local farms in the area, this includes their olive oil and house wine which are both so delicious in their respective parts of dinner. These home cooked dishes by Gemma are amazing and is beautifully matched with Giulio's hospitality and waiting. There are just not enough words to describe how welcomed and even the amount of love I felt when I ate here, which by the way was probably 8 dinners out of the two weeks I've been in Italy.
