SmokeHouse — Restaurant in Bassano del Grappa

Great place for burgers and steaks. FOOD: probably the best burger I've had in Veneto. Buns looked thick but actually soft and moist. You won't feel bloated due to the buns (which is the main problem I have with local burger joints). Good size meat and l liked how they served sauces on the side. Steaks were good also. Asked for medium and nicely cooked. It also came with its own separate condiments. Wine was excellent but the beer was average. Next time, I will stick with wine. LOCATION: it is easy to find. It is on the main road going from Nove to Bassano. The restaurant does look like a resident house but no problem if you are using GPS or Google Map. Parking available. PRICE: steak price was excellent. There were less expensive steaks, but we wanted to try a Japanese style steak with marbling. What you see in the picture was €21. Hamburger was on the expensive side. What you see is €15. Both prices included potatoe/fries. But I think it was worth it. SERVICE: great service and friendly. Spoke English well which was a plus for me. MISC: loved the fact that their menu was simple. No pasta or risotto or worrying about adding salad or vegetables . The food here is so delicious! I ate onion rings and potato wedges, which were amazing! I had the "second burger" which was a burger with bacon, cheese, tomatoes, and an egg, plus potato wedges and sauces. It was delicious! It was like an American burger but way better! The egg was cooked perfectly and really complemented the taste of the meat. It was so juicy and huge, it was hard to even bite into it at first because it was so big! I was so full after my food, but the desserts looked so delicious I couldn't resist! I had the cheesecake with strawberries. It was so good!!! This is a burger lovers must visit destination! For all those who say, I can't find a good burger in Northern Italy, here's your answer! The burgers are all specialty creations with plenty of toppings. The fries are excellent, and they have a wide range of drink options, however, the Birrone beer or local wines are some of my favorites.
