Maman Ludì — Restaurant in Belchidda/Berchidda

Only a short drive from our Agriturismo, the evening drive to this fine establishment was a scenic one as we ascended the hilltop. We we were greeted and chose to dine outdoors. What a fantastic view.

The restaurant was not very busy, infact we were the only ones outside. Greeted by Luka we were well taken care of for the entire evening. The menu arrives to you in an envelope in the form of a two page hand written letter! *Brilliant! Immediately the experience feels very intimate. Luka described each dish arriving to the table and we were left each time to enjoy the cuisine and the serene ambience.

Go hungry because everything on the menu is delicious

At the end Luka offered us the house made Mirto. (A popular liqueur in the Mediterranean islands of Sardinia, Corsica and Capraia). We were able to test what was made inhouse versus another commercial product.

We had an amazing dinner at Maman Ludi in Berchidda, Sardinia. The scenery was stunning, especially at sunset, and the handwritten menu was a charming touch. Service was excellent — friendly, fluent in English and Spanish. The food stood out: the swordfish with ginger and potato cream was exceptional, the tuna and broccoli delicious, and the beef perfectly cooked. Local wine was simple but good, and we were welcomed with champagne, snacks, and fresh bread. We stumbled over this gourmet eatery and arts venue by accident- we were looking for a quick bite and found a gem. Splendid views, delicious food and excellent service. I got entranced by the collection of various artefacts, books, musical instruments, pictures and shere poetry of the place.
