Coroncina Country Relais — Restaurant in Belforte del Chienti

Needing to escape from chaotic Rome and after much searching I found Agriturismo Coroncina on the Veggie Hotels website and http://www.agriturismocoroncina.it I contacted Melania and Carlo to check availability and from the very beginning they were marvelous. The food was sensational (it comes from their own organic vegetable garden) and Melania makes everything from scratch (wine and cheese are all local too), location serene, their animals (dogs and cats) were a delight (and I'm not particularly a dog lover), the beds have the most divine Italian linen sheets, and rooms comfortable. Both Melania and Carlo were super helpful (and patient) with requests - although honestly, they seemed to know exactly what I needed before I asked. They are a relaxed couple but focused on ensuring that it is their guests who are relaxed and well nourished! I cannot forget to mention that there is a decadent spa facility on the property managed by Carlo. He is an excellent masseuse, and I believe able to make anyone calm! The double room is large and has a modern design with respect for tradition. Location is pretty and very farmstay. Reception seemed largely unmanned most of the time, but this can often be the case off season. Two minor drawbacks, first, the place is somewhat difficult to find and cell phone maps will take you to a different location close to the back gate of the establishment. Second, the breakfast seemed vegan which was not to my liking. There was no milk or cheese, eggs or meat products. Admittedly, I could have expected that, so partly my mistake although I think it would be helpful to underline that (optional) breakfast is vegan.
