Polentoteca Chalet Gabriele — Restaurant in Bellagio

The ultimate Italian experiece in oktobre. Not a tourist in sight. Very busy, filled with Italian families and dogs after hiking on a Sunday. We only had fries, a green salad (just shredded salad, nothing else and pakkaged olive oil and balsamico) and a polenta with mushrooms (pretty good, no haute cuisine but certainly good value for money, honest food, honest price) to share. Some local red wine (not the best but okay, you get a lot though for little money) and a coke. The people are friendly, and know what they are doing. The view is breathtaking which we missed due to fog, the parking free and easy, which is rare around lake como. Parking is either difficult or you have to pay (take change because your cards wont work). If you drive on in the direction of Nesso but still on the hill/plateau you will find some nice spots to hike from, which is difficult or next to impossible near...

We were staying in Lezzeno and want to taste the cucina locale before we leave to Bologna. And were very lucky to find Chalet Gabriele. In summary: spectacular views of the lake and the mountains, a restaurant with great service, plenty of local specialties and at more than fair prices. What else you can ask for? We have a wonderful time, taste polenta with gorgonzola, polenta uncia, stinco de maiale, cervo, vitella and more. By the way I think I lost my bavarian hat there and they were very helpfull to recover it. It was my fault in the end the damm hat was in the car. We will come back every time we can go to Lago di Como

Eravamo a Lezzeno e vogliamo assaggiare la cucina locale prima di partire per Bologna. E siamo stati molto fortunati a trovare lo Chalet Gabriele. In sintesi: il ristorante ha una vista spettacolare sul lago e sulle montagne, un ristorante con un ottimo servizio, tante specialità locali e a prezzi più che onesti. Cos'altro puoi chiedere? Ci divertiamo moltissimo, assaggiamo la polenta al gorgonzola, la polenta uncia, lo stinco de maiale, il cervo, la vitella e altro ancora. A proposito, penso di aver perso il mio cappello bavarese e sono stati molto disponibili a recuperarlo. Alla fine è stata colpa mia se quel dannato cappello era in macchina. Estávamos hospedados em Lezzeno e queríamos provar a culinária local antes de partirmos para Bolonha. E tivemos muita sorte de encontrar o Chalet Gabriele. Em resumo: vistas espectaculares sobre o lago e as montanhas, um restaurante com excelente serviço, muitas especialidades locais e a preços mais que justos. O que mais você pode pedir? Passamos momentos maravilhosos, saboreamos polenta com gorgonzola, polenta uncia, stinco de maiale, cervo, vitella e muito mais. Aliás, acho que perdi meu chapéu bávaro lá e eles foram muito prestativos para recuperá-lo. No final das contas, foi minha culpa que o maldito chapéu estivesse no carro. Fantastic experience and authentic north Italian cuisine. Great service and food came out fast. They were extremely attentive to a nut allergy and made sure to accommodate us. If you have a car in Bellagio it would be a shame if you didn’t stop in here. We went in at opening without a reservation and had no trouble getting a table for 4. We ordered polenta with mushrooms, polenta with braised beef, gnocchi with a pork cream sauce and a gnocchi with butter and sage all of which tasted exceptional and distinct.
