This is a hidden gem in Belpasso! We have been here just over one month and had not noticed it until someone recommended it to us! Beautiful setting overlooking Belpasso and high enough to get really nice unobscured breezes!♥️. Once it gets dark, the scenery changed. The enchanting city and valley lights below were beautiful and the outdoor seating was lit up with lights as well. We are from Louisiana in the U.S.A. and speak English and only a tiny bit of Italian. One of the staff kindly interpreted the menu for us. The menu was not huge, but the quality and unique Sicilian combinations in their selections was outstanding! We enjoyed two appetizers, with the sliced eggplant being the best I have had in all of Sicily! We have been to Sicily 4 times and this time we have been here three months! For our entrees/second courses the three of us chose pork shank with potatoes and two different veal dishes. Each one was amazing with unique flavors and sauces combined! On our way from Etna, exhausted and hungry, we came across a nice wineyard with great rating. We went there and saw that all the staff was in the middle of preparation of the wedding. Despite it, a friendly guy approached us and after quick chat offered us a degustation of wine while apologizing for the turmoil in the place. Even though it was all suddem visit, he actually took time to say information about the wine tasted and in addition arranged a small improvised charcuterie board (which was actually huge and awesome) and side dishes as savory pies with ricotta, homemade pestos and aranchini and fries mozzarela. Everything was superb and the place was magical and i especially appreciate how kind they were to us eventhough there were preperations for a wedding. Deffinitely recomend. UN DISASTRO ASSOLUTO!!! Giovedi' 22 Agosto, avendo prenotato per una cena di 12 persone ben 4 giorni prima, arrivo con parenti e amici Catanesi e francesi al Casale del Notaio in perfetto orario per le 22. La serata era tranquilla senza confusione, il tavolo lo avevano preparato con un intero lato lungo con 5 posti a sedere addossato ad una scala in pietra lavica, al punto tale da avere difficoltà ad entrare nel posto a sedere, con nessuna libertà di movimento dietro. Non protesto per non fare brutta figura con i miei parenti francesi, e perchè spostare un tavolo da 12 è un'impresa. l'attesa è stata lunghissima anche per i soli antipasti, e non ci hanno portato neanche le birre o il vino, rispondendoci che pensavano di portarle con i piatti di portata. Ci consigliano una carne buonissima chiamata Tomawak, o qualcosa di simile, per poi tornare a dirci, dopo un bel pò di attesa, che si erano sbagliati e di cambiare scelta.

Ogni volta che volevo qualsiasi cosa dovevo alzarmi per andare a cercare un cameriere, non c'era nessuno che teneva sotto controllo la zona esterna, mi sarò alzato 10 volte almeno, per ogni nuova birra, posata, pane, o altro. I camerieri per sparecchiare dal lato lungo del tavolo addossato alla scala in pietra lavica dovevano salire almeno due gradini per passare dietro le sedie, e fu così che un cameriere ha fatto cadere 4 piatti vuoti con relative posate addosso a mia madre sulle spalle, facendole male e macchiandola tutta. Infine, arrivano i piatti di portata a rate di 3 piatti, con attesa di 3/4 min circa tra un serie di piatti e un'altra, e non abbiamo iniziato a mangiare finchè tutti non eravano serviti, quindi abbiamo mangiato tutto freddo. Mia moglie l'unica che ha ordinata pizza, nonostante ormai fossimo l'unico tavolo rimasto con clienti, ha ricevuto la sua pizza 10 minuti dopo che noi avevamo iniziato tutti a mangiare su insistenza di mia moglie. Chiedo di una responsabile, il ristorante era ormai vuoto e la trovo in cucina a parlare con tutti i camerieri introvabili, mi lamento per la non contemporaneità dei piatti e mi dice che non è vero, i piatti stanno arrivando nei limiti previsti. Non c'era l'ombra di un titolare od un responsabile che si comportasse da tale. Alla fine ci hanno offerto 4 sorbetti, un pò di biscotti e Zibibbo, ma abbiamo comunque pagato il conto e avuta una serata completamente rovinata, in questi casi bisognerebbe andarsene senza pagare. Ditemi voi se è questo è il modo di trattare 12 clienti che potrebbero portarne altri, per giunta in una serata senza confusione?
