Absolutely not recommended! We went there to eat based on the recommendation of the host where we were staying, and we're thoroughly disappointed. For 4 people + a child, we paid more than what we would in the center of Milan or Florence! And that's without wine or spectacular views! We ordered a first course, a main course, and sparkling water. "Ordered" is the wrong word – we chose from two options that the attendant, who only spoke Italian and used a phone translator, suggested to us. No prices provided! The food itself was alright, but nothing extraordinary. We had a much better meal in San Gimignano with a beautiful view of Tuscany, at a regular restaurant, with a bottle of wine and dessert – it was 10€ cheaper and much better!
The bill was presented on a small piece of paper with just the names of the main dishes and the price in a circle. You pay in cash and receive no receipt whatsoever. I strongly discourage anyone from going there! With that amount, you can definitely eat in a much better location and find equally good food in Italy as well.
Adding to our unpleasant experience, the worst part of it all was the waiting. We spent 2 hours there waiting for two dishes! EXTREMELY slow service! This was our major turn-off. If you want to waste your time waiting, then this is definitely the place for you. With dessert, we probably would've spent 3 hours there, of which eating would be maybe 15 minutes, and the rest would be waiting time! Especially inconvenient...
Read moreUnless you're desperate... DON'T GO! Five star prices, one star food. Very basic, very very bland food and extremely expensive. It cost us more to eat basic pasta with tomato and meatballs here than it did for a much higher quality food in Cinque Terre and Lucca. We were shocked by the cost - especially as we took our own wine - so we asked for a breakdown of the bill. It wasn't provided. All we had was two basic pasta's with very little sauce, a salad (lettuce only), a main of very ordinary meaetballs plus two lemoncello's and it cost us €50.We have lived in Italy for almost a year and this is the first time we have felt that we have been taken advantage of. Please don't give this lady your custom, it is...
