We arrived just as staff were clearing up after a big Sunday family lunch. No-one seemed to be expecting us, despite us having reserved well in advance, and eventually someone with a little understanding of English arrived to check us in. We were asked to pay the modest €50 for the room there and then, which was no problem, and were then shown across the courtyard to our room on the first floor.||||The room was spotless, with air conditioning for which we were thankful as there was a bit of heatwave at the time of our stay. The beds had good firm mattresses and crisp cotton sheets. The bathroom was basic but again, spotlessly clean.||||The room was supplied with a complimentary breakfast consisting of pre-packed croissants (one per person) and two coffee pods - the machine is on the landing - or alternatively you can ask for breakfast downstairs at extra cost, but it all seemed a bit too much trouble for the staff. Instead, they suggested Angel's Bar across the road, where we did indeed have a very basic breakfast the following morning.||||The hotel restaurant was closed that night (of which we had no advance notification) but as the hotel has it's own pizzeria, we did not starve.||||TIP: Have a drink before supper at Angel's, and she will heap nuts, nibbles and pizza on you with your wine or whatever - delicious, and...

The restaurant served good, wholesome food: nothing spectacular, but all served promptly and in good portions. I never quite worked out whether there was actually Wifi anywhere there: if there was, I didn't find it. Breakfast was taken in the cafe over the road and was the only disappointment - this was one breakfast not worth the visit. But everything else though was fine: beds were comfortable, shower worked well, everything clean and tidy. Free parking off the street just a few metres away. Thin walls (even thinner doors) mean you can expect to share the sounds of your neighbours, but for the price this hotel represents...
