Tenute Margana — Restaurant in Calatafimi Segesta

We came here for food and beers, scanned QR code for menu and prices. Prices were 8€-14€ pr meal, 2€ pr. person for the ‘service’ and 5€ for a big bottle of Birra Moretti. We ordered 2xraviolli for 10€, 1xgnocchi for 10€, 1 x spagheti piccante for 8€ and a steak(not ant special just the cheapest pork! one for I think 12€) and 5 x beers.

We were 5 people so 10€ for the service, 25€ for the beers and food for 50€. We get a bill that stands 107€. Apparently ‘steak was thick’ so all of a sudden it costs 25€ and service costs 15€ 😂

We were the only people who were there, waitress didn’t speak english at all, and she just basically avoided coming to us.

Steak was pork steak withs some iceberg salad ob the side and two slices of lemon. Spaghetti picante was just spaghettin in hot garlic oil was not ‘picante’ in any way. The rest of the food was ok, but not really any special by Italian standards.

Location was nice though, but road is bad and it just felt all abandoned - at 18:00-19:30 there were no other guests, tables outside not even ready, no one to be found at the...

A must have for anyone visiting Seggesta or this part of Sicilia. The most authentic Sicilian experience we had on our trip, and one of the best meals of my life. We went with a group of four and had plate after plate of local appetizers and two massive plates of pasta to share among all of us. Every single thing we tried was delicious, even the snails and tripe which were almost too much for the squeamish but everyone agreed they loved them in the end. The meal came with bread baked in a nearby town in an old wood fired oven, and the owner even helped us try and contact some family we had in the area! The road to the location is bumpy, but the rural peace and delicious food you get afterwards are incredibly worth it. I still catch myself daydreaming about the pistachio gnocchi...

Il posto è bello, curato nei dettagli, l'esterno è particolarmente gradevole, l'interno rustico esattamente da tenuta! Per raggiungerlo bisogna percorrere una strada un po' impervia tra i campi e qualche dissestamento qua e là ma è immerso nel verde e quindi va bene. Cibo abbondante e buono, nel mio caso, avevo un menù diverso dagli altri ed è stato spiacevole dover aspettare i miei piatti per tempi di attesa decisamente lunghi e diversi dagli altri commensali, per cui ho mangiato praticamente sola... ho trovato poco pesto al pistacchio e più una crema al formaggio negli gnocchi che avrebbero dovuto essere al pistacchio quindi sarebbe meglio chiedere precisazioni maggiori sul menù che è un po' vago (sugo con carne mista, grigliata di carne locale...ok ma cosa?!) che inoltre non è stato pienamente rispettato..lo stinco alla brace è stato cotto praticamente col sugo. Un po' salate le pietanze anche per me che mangio saporito, ottima ricotta! In ogni caso credo sia un posto meritevole e ci tornerei anche ma confido in una maggiore attenzione ai clienti AGGIORNAMENTO Sono di fatto ritornata in questo posto, prenotando e chiarendo bene alcune cose sui piatti. Il risultato è stato che hanno fatto per tutti gli gnocchi senza speck (perché io non lo mangio) e al posto della fiorentina è arrivata una fettina sottilissima di carne che nemmeno il carpaccio! Il proprietario ha avuto anche l'ardire di chiedere se andasse bene la cottura, ma era veramente una fettina sottile sottile! Peggio ancora è stato trovate un pezzo di speck nel primo. Fatto notare...non è cambiato niente. Questa si chiama aver poca cura. Se lo speck è aggiunto dopo al condimento, non vi costava nulla fare due piatti separati invece che toglierlo! Il prezzo è stato uguale ovviamente, nonostante il menù non sia stato rispettato e nonostante non sia stata portata l'acqua tanto richiesta perché ormai stavamo finendo di pranzare.
