Trattoria Alla Stella — Restaurant in Campagna Lupia

I was here on a business lunch with a friend and my girlfriend and we wanted to have good fish. We were recommended this place and in a disguised place, we had an excellent fish starter experience, accompanied by local white wine (my gf) and an excellent lemon sorbet. My gf has choosen a starter of cozze and vongole, while my friend and me an antipasto di mare, the one in the photo, portraiting the best the local area has to offer. The service was carried out by old personnel, however brilliant and always ready to anticipate our needs, indeed without being invasive. I‘ve been coming for 33 years once a year and I would say it is only to eat at this restaurant. The reasons why? It’s not the furniture, it’s not the location.... this restaurant is all about honest Italian cuisine at it‘s best ... they have always stayed true to themselves! Excellent quality of fish & seafood and excellent Italian cooking ... no trends, no modern extras that no one needs - La Stella has always focused on what makes a restaurant truly worth going there: wonderful food & great, friendly staff & owners ... Forse le persone che recensiscono positivamente non hanno la minima idea di cosa sia il pesce fresco, e le basi della ristorazione. Forse legati alla nostalgia dei vecchi tempi. Unico comune denominatore è il pesce totalmente insapore. Sauté di cozze non sfumato, puzzava di vino in cartone, pesce assolutamente congelato ed industriale, il bollito di pesce era un misto tra pesce bollito e antipasto di mare in vaschetta. I primi sono "spinti" da un brodo industriale al sapore di pesce che maschera la pessima qualità degli ingredienti. Gli spaghetti alle vongole erano pieni di sabbia e fondo (conchiglie rotte). Un incubo. Tutto imbarazzante.. l'unica cosa che ho apprezzato della polenta e schie è stata la polenta istantanea. Condito il tutto dal personale totalmente inadeguato, i piatti sporchi che ci hanno portato per gli antipasti, che ho chiesto di sostituire, sono stati sostituiti da altri piatti sporchi (lavastoviglie forse caricata troppo e non vengono puliti adeguatamente) le brocche e i bicchieri con gocce evidenti di calcare. Ma giustamente al personale nn si può dire nulla. Purtroppo io essendo (visibilmente) incinta ho avuto parecchi problemi non solo con il vino non sfumato, i piatti sporchi, il cibo di bassa qualità, ma poi il cameriere che insiste sul chiedermi se volessi l'amaro a fine cena... È stata la ciliegina sulla torta. Peccato che fossi invitata ad un compleanno altrimenti avrei fatto una scenata! Mi dispiace per chi ha pagato il conto, assolutamente non meritato... Purtroppo i clienti abituali qui, ripeto, vengono presi in giro da questi ristoratori, che spacciano il buono per il pessimo. Non vi meritate certo tutto il successo che avete ora,...
