La Rustica — Restaurant in Campo nell'Elba

I visited this fine restaurant twice with my wife and daughter. Our top 3 dishes were the spaghetti with clams, swordfish livornese, and grilled sausage patties. Prices were very reasonable and included dessert and a bottle of wine each time (Elba bianco and Elba rosso, both excellent). Their cheese plate after the meal was outstanding: Parmesan, ricotta, pecorino over some sliced pears and bit of lettuce and shredded carrot, with honey drizzled on the edges. At both visits, our orders arrived in 5-10 minutes and our servers Veronika and Simon were fast, efficient and friendly. We could also see the twins Martina and Ilaria working hard at other tables. I was encouraged when I arrived. The management was friendly and found me a table immediately despite it being very busy. When I got my food, however, the shellfish in my pasta was obviously previously frozen and mushy. The shells were also in pieces which I bit into a number of times as I ate. I should have sent it back immediately. I told the waiter who seemed unconcerned. The salad was iceberg lettuce and made without care. Do not recommend...

La pizza non mi ha mai deluso ma mangiare il pesce e da escludere tassativamente! Lo scorso anno ho mangiato un pessimo spaghetto alle vongole insipido , spaghetti Scotti e soprattutto il 90% delle vongole era staccato dal guscio, non ho lasciato al tempo nessuna recensione perché una volta ci può stare.. oggi a distanza di un anno prendo uno spaghetto allo scoglio e una penna al salmone mia moglie. Le penne erano scotte in maniera indecente i spaghetti Scotti ma mangiabili, il condimento e stato talmente pessimo che ho preferito non mangiare più di una forchettata di pasta.. tre cicale completamente vuote e il guscio sembrava masticato, 3 cozze di numero e qualche vongola che sapevano di limone e si sentiva l odore della sfumatura di vino, veramente il peggiore della mia vita. Aggiungerei che 3.80 di coperto per 4 fette di pane del giorno prima mi sembra veramente di cattivo gusto. Mi dispiace perché e un bel locale e i ragazzi svelti e molto educati.. sicuramente prenderò ancora la pizza ma mai più portate di pesce. -----aggiornamento--- Ho preso due pizze da asporto una tonno e cipolla e una diavola ma purtroppo sono cambiate anche le pizze per me...
