We had eaten here last year and been impressed so we decided to return for a couple of days mainly in order to visit Campo Imperatore and see the Spring flowers. ||Rooms are modern and simply furnished, but very quiet and comfortable, and ours had a view to the lake. We were welcomed by Domenico the owner who was able to offer help and advice throughout our stay. In the evenings after we had eaten he came and talked with us, offering various local alcoholic treats. ||Breakfast was simple in the Italian style, but with enough variety to give a good start to the day. In the evenings the meals were very good (portions are substantial especially the antipasto misto) with delicious pasta and local meat. Service was friendly and relaxed.||After the earthquakes tourists will no doubt be fewer in number, but this is a very nice hotel in a beautiful and largely unspoilt area and we were glad we had come and shown some support. ||We saw beautiful fields of wild crocus and gentian on our way up Campo Imperatore - towards the top the road had only just been opened and there was a lot of snow to be seen but the views are...

A small hotel - but happy to serve non-residents. ||A friendly welcome in a clean and light dining room followed by a simple, but well-prepared lunch of local salami and cheeses, followed by pasta and dessert, plus a decent Montepulciano D'Abruzzo house red. Not especially ambitious, but well-prepared; delicious; reasonably priced; and attentively served. (The Spaghetti Amatriciana especially good). ||Would definitely return...
