The place was beautiful, specially the garden. The staff were rude, specially the lady (the wife of the chef) was extremely rude, we wanted to order two different tasting menu (degustazione) the said ite not possible the whole table has to order the same menu, second when we ordered the vegeterain menu she (chef’s wife) got offended and asked us why we are ordering in this way and not menu a la Carta, we explained that we don’t eat fish and basically everything has fish in it, so she got offended and she didn’t care about our table at all, she was going around on each table and chitchatting except ours. Super Unprofessional and super Rude. Each plate had different texture and everything was designed nice but it wasn’t edible. The waiting time for each plate was a lot and they didn’t even care to bring the bread while we were waiting for the first dish. The tastes were completely wired (like sweet and moist) and honestly the textures made me feel sick, we were counting seconds to leave, and we couldn’t even taste the last two dishes, it was that horrible that we stopped even taking pictures and just wanted to leave. The desert was nice, the taste and the design was nice, and that was the only part of the menu which was edible. We have been to so many Michelin star restaurants and comparing to the other Michelins star restaurants, this restaurant was not deserve one star Michelin, it should not be even recommended by Michelin. Read moreRistorante Butterfly was a faultless fine dining experience, no surprise it continues to hold its Michelin starred status. Lovely ambience and welcoming staff, providing detailed explanations of the food (in English for us) and service that was attentive but not too intrusive - these facets all added to our experience, but the star(s) of the show were of course the dishes.
We chose the meat-based tradition and innovation tasting menu (NB there was a full fish-based menu and a fully vegetarian option, alongside which the kitchen also serves a la carte!). Expect lots of intense flavours, beautifully presented dishes and plenty of variety - although star ingredients like fois gras and chocolate were repeated at some points in the menu.
We were presented with pink sparkling wine and an amouse-bouche on arrival, and there were lovely “in between courses” add ons which enhanced our enjoyment - we were entertained for over 4 hours - we took our time and savoured every minute!
The wine list was extensive but accessible, arranged sensibly and with some fair-priced wines (around 40 euros) sitting alongside the 400+ euro premium bottles (August 2025).

A special mention goes to the wine recommendation, which was absolutely perfect. It complemented the meal in every way and showed the team’s deep knowledge and excellent taste.
The ambience was also top-notch – elegant, warm, and inviting. Whether for a romantic dinner or a special occasion, the setting added so much to the experience.
One of the highlights of the evening was that the chef personally visited our table, which added a wonderful personal touch and made the night feel even more special.
