ristorante masseria — Restaurant in Capo d'Orlando

Where to start from? I admit, our young daughter was given the task of finding the restaurant for the evening and when we travelled down the dark country road that leads to la Masseria, my husband and I were a little bit suspicious. When we got there we saw a garden and nothing that resembled a restaurant. It looked like a private home, were it not for the sign ‚ristorante masseria‘. We entered with our daughters in the simple main area of the restaurant and were immediately greeted by the friendly owners.

What followed next was a dinner to remember! If you are looking for local, wonderfully tasty and fresh food cooked with care, look no further!!

We started with A LOT of different antipasti dishes...from fresh mushrooms, to a delicious caponata, from dumplings of sting nettles to salsiccia e fagioli; from delicious vegetable dishes to meat dumplings to die for! It must have been 10-12-15 delicious starters. One more delicious than the other! Difficult to pick our favourite one! The service was courteous, fast and attentive.

To be honest, after the feat with the starters we were not sure that we would master another main course....but when one is presented with such delicious options and authentic food - how to resist? 😉...and we were not able to resist! We even had the home made biscuits with dessert wine! 🙈😂 Price/quality fair and worth it! Can definitely recommend and will be...

La mia valutazione purtroppo viene penalizzata solo per due cose: Non c’è un menù dove poter vedere i prezzi e le pietanze offerte cosa che dovrebbe essere normale. Abbiamo preso un antipasto per due, direi buono, e due primi ( trofie con pistacchio molto buone e pasta alla norma anch’essa molto buona) frutta ( 3 fichi, 2 fichi d’india e 2 fettine di anguria). Caffè e liquore di casa. Al momento del conto noto che antipasti 12€ ( ci sta il costo), i due primi 12€ l’uno ( qui ho da ridire perchè per un piatto alla norma secondo me è eccessivo il costo, le trofie al piatacchio è giusto) ma la cosa che ci sono rimasto male è che ci ha messo 6,00€ per un piatto di frutta.. Alla fine ci ha fatto lo sconto perchè avevamo una convenzione con il b&b nel quale alloggiavamo peró secondo me dovreste avere chiarezza su tutto quello che servite perchè non si puó avere un conto a sorpresa. A parte tutto non posso dire assolutamente di aver mangiato male anzi lo consiglio…. Spero che il mio feedback sia...

This is an agritourist restaurant and is excellent. Serving fresh local food, off the beaten track you do need to book in advance, the owner is very friendly and attentive, we had a lovely evening. Highly recommended a real change from the usual pasta and pizza places that...
