La Locanda di San Giorgio — Restaurant in Carini

I got to the restaurant a bit early due to a very early flight the next morning, and they were not open yet (as Italians tend to eat late). Maria was gracious enough to allow me to sit, brought me a spritz, and some snacks until they were ready. I was grateful!

I ordered a pizza and fresh mozzarella salad, both were excellent!! I wish I could have lingered longer.

I gave Atmosphere 4-⭐ only because the space, while very interesting, felt a bit vacuous. Perhaps if I weren't solo this may not have mattered.

Per quanto riguarda la location e la parte strettamente legato alla cucina nulla da ridire...se dovessi basarmi solo su questi due parametri darei 5 e anche oltre come stelle. Il discorso cambia quando si inizia a considerare il personale e ancor più la PIZZA (a cui do -5). Per il personale diciamo non proprio disponibile . All’ingresso la ragazza addetta all accoglienza, dopo averci chiesto giustamente se avessimo prenotato, al nostro No prima ci guarda con un espressione quasi scocciata per poi chiederci di attendere per verificare se ci fossero posti...attesa lunga quasi 15 minuti durante i quali veder accomodare persone sicuramente anche loro non prenotate (confermate da frasi tipo “trovagli un posto e trattali come se fossi io...” pronunciate da altro personale e in almeno 2 occasioni). Finalmente ci viene dato l’ok per accomodarci ( per scoprire che almeno c’erano 5/6 tavoli liberi, e che sono rimasti tali per tutta la nostra permanenza). Attesa breve per prendere la comanda, un po’ di più per gli antipasti (FANTASTICO IL TAGLIERE DI SALUMI), un’ora e passa per l’arrivo della pizza. Qui la nota dolente. Non dico di cambiar pizzaiolo (non oso arrivare a tanto...) ma sicuramente di rivedere impasto e stesura della pasta, e degli ingredienti usati per i condimenti....per esser brevi, pizza lasciata dopo aver mangiato uno spicchio solamente. OTTIMA INVECE LA PASTA (ahimè non è toccata a me ordinarla 😭😭😭). Prezzi non proprio accessibili ma che sarebbero giustificati dalla luogo veramente elegante se gli altri servizi fossero altrettanto adeguati p.s. Le lamentele per l’attesa erano anche da parte di altri ospiti e la risposta era sempre la solita... stanno...

Very nice location, good atmosphere.

When we entered two of the waiters seemed annoyed. They were fairly rude to us, as we are tourists, but seemed nice to the locals.

We got chicken, squid and clams. The chicken was raw, but they quickly fixed it. The squid was chewy. It might've been frozen. We asked for clam soup but they brought us clams with spaghetti. It was nice, but not what we asked for.

Too expensive for...
