Focacceria Santa Lucia — Restaurant in Carrara

The very cute house cat was the only one, who was happy, as we handed him down our unfinished plates of very disappointing food. We were excited to try this place for its vegetarian options, but left the place hungry and with empty pockets. The ingredients seemed far from fresh the hummus, as the marinated tofu, and the eggplants were incredibly acidy and remained not eaten on the plate, the sesame flavorless, the chickpeas were drowned in cumin.... The focaccia and the cheese were good. Yay. The place is very pretty, the bathroom clean, the staff was friendly and trying their best, but didn't seem to notice that none of us was really eating. The view is lovely and sitting under such umbrellas cosy, but with the indoor television being connected to the outdoor sound system, we were left "eating" with a sports reporter rambling on in the background. All in all one of the most frustrating experiences i have had so far. Not worth the long drive. I'm sorry, but can you please put some love and good ingredients into your food and try a bit harder to make people happy? And be at least fair on the prices since you clearly did not spend your money on the groceries. Thank you

Regarding the very prompt response of the owner, thank you for that. We made it very clear by not eating, something that should have been noticed by your staff and since you're responding here you do understand the purpose of google reviews. Regarding the voices coming from the speaker it would have been on you to inform us, that you're having trouble with the music. These things matter. If this is your best, you can do better. Fresh or not, please check your food for acidity, hummus nor melanzane is meant to taste sour. I worked as a vegetarian chef for years and gladly pass on...

Ci vuole del talento. Di quello vero, non di quello che siamo abituati a dover cercare e trovare necessariamente anche dove non c'è. Ci vuole il talento di un cuoco che cucina una focaccia che sa di fuoco vivo, di brace e profuma di vita, uno sformato morbido come l'abbraccio di nonna. Ci vuole il talento di una persona che ti serve in sala accompagnando i piatti con un monologo sui gatti degno della miglior Virna Lisi e ti fa scoprire che non tutti gli attori calcano i palcoscenici, qualcuno calca le sale dei ristoranti come questo. Ci vuole il talento di una donna senza età che ti insegue nel parcheggio con gli avanzi della tua cena re incartati per benino dicendoti: " Questa è buona anche domattina, per colazione ", e ti saluta con un sorriso e un abbraccio che, alla fine alla fine ti trovi indeciso se è più bello questo o il panorama che si vede da qua. Il prezzo non potrà che sembrarvi ridicolo, e vi troverete a pensare "è troppo poco!". Vi consiglio di chiamare prima per assicurarvi per assicurarvi un piatto di "tordelli",come li chiamiamo da queste parti, perché , dicono" van fatti a mano, ci vuol tempo". Uscirete da qui non solo con la pancia piena ma soprattutto con il cuore pieno e questo è talento....

Locale dalla vista mozzafiato, vale la pena vanire a cenare qui già solo per la vista. Per quanto riguarda il menù, il posto offre una soluzione piuttosto singolare: non c'è un menù cartaceo dal quale poter scegliere le singole portate. Vengono portate delle focaccine fatte sul posto al rosmarino, calde, croccanti, saporite e buonissime; da accompagnare altri piatti della casa: varietà di salumi, stracchino e formaggi, varie verdure sottolio, melanzane, toritini di verdure, pomodorini conditi e speziati etc. Le focaccine vengono riportate fino a che se ne vuole e si possono richiedere anche i singoli accompagnamenti. Tutto assolutamente buonissimo, dalle schiacciatine, ai formaggi, e a tutti i vari accompagnamenti. Ci sono poi anche diverse scelte per il dolce , noi abbiamo preso il tiramisù (che era a base di panna) e la crema catalana (che ci è purtoppo stata servita fredda).

Ottima la qualità e il sapore del cibo, si potrebbe migliorare il servizio (c'erano solo 3 cameriere e il locale era pieno) e il dessert che non era il massimo. Ottimo tutto il resto e soprattuto splendida...
