I had not eaten since an early breakfast and been driving all day this Friday mid January of 2025. I had just visited the Alessi factory store in Omegna to purchase some gifts for friends and family and still had some 200+ kilometers to drive before being back home. Consulting Google Maps the Barabba restaurant seemed to be a very good choice for an early dinner. It was said it was open from 6 p.m., but this, I rapidly learnt was for an aperitivo. Dinner was not on until an hour and a half later. I suppose the owner/cook saw my deception and decided to cook for me something that was certainly not on the menu that I never consulted at the same time he served me a glass of red from Puglia. It was the perfect meal, served on tableware from Alessi on a red and white table cloth and linen napkins. Read moreA wonderful set menu. We chose the fish menu. A lovely starter with crisp pastry, delicious onions and an amazing top. This was followed by home made pasta, a deep sauce with pasta and a peppery salami, fish and olive sauce. For desert we had lovely pots of yogurt and blueberries plus a cheesecake. Each dish was delicious and we loved speaking v with the chef about the dishes and ingredients - a treat to speak to someone so passionate and knowledgeable.
