Hotel Novecento — Restaurant in Casarsa della Delizia

We spent a pretty nice few days here – okay, mostly we just stayed overnight, stuffed ourselves with pizza, sipped wine, and relaxed in the evenings. Overall, the hotel could use a bit of a refresh, but we didn’t encounter anything seriously problematic. Breakfasts aren’t very rich – it’s not the kind of buffet you find in many hotels – just a bit of sweet, a bit of savory, and quite good coffee.

We found the hotel to be a family-friendly place with a very nice atmosphere and helpful staff, so we had a pleasant time overall. The pizza isn’t Neapolitan, but it’s of good quality – thicker dough but tasty, good olive oil, and quality ingredients. There were some minor communication issues, but they didn’t really matter – both sides were willing, and there was always someone around who spoke English.

Honestly, if we get the chance, we’ll probably come back – especially since we were lucky to be there during the wine festival.

In terms of transport, it’s not bad – the train station is about 10–15 minutes from the hotel, and there are buses too.

Went to Novecento for the first time in 2020 (maybe 2021) and again this spring of 2025 together with my mother and sister and i noticed major upgrades for the rooms since my first experience in 2020. We spent more than a week there while i was recovering from some medical intervention and since I had to recover energies i spent most of that week in proximity of the hotel. All in all it was a great experience and with a liitle effort the personnel made me feel at home. The room was nice and tidy and the hotel in itself is almosst a piece of art. There i had also my best " risotto with asparagus" and also amazing tiramisu. In the evenings was nice to notice the locals gather for their typical Spritz aperol and you could mingle...

Abbiamo partecipato all'esperienza Cena con Delitto al costo di €45 a persona. Ora, nulla da dire, se fosse stata una serata piacevole ma nulla è andato come ci si aspettava. Appena arrivati siamo stati accolti freddamente dal titolare e, seguendo la folla, siamo saliti al piano superiore dove si sarebbe tenuto l'evento. I camerieri ci hanno indicato il tavolo a noi riservato, appena ci siamo seduti abbiamo notato alcune stoviglie sporche e del vino palesemente travasato su delle bottiglie vecchie. L'antipasto era composto da un tortino di verdure con fonduta di formaggio (praticamente una frittata con tre verdure dentro). Uno dei tortini arriva al tavolo con un aspetto completamente diverso dagli altri, alla nostra domanda il camerierie risponde che probabilmente c'era stata solo qualche differenza nell'impasto. In realtà era chiaramente visibile fosse fatto diversamente, effettivamente era un agglomerato di farro e basta. Il primo piatto: un risotto completamente scotto con radicchio e forse due pezzetti di salsiccia per piatto, viva l'abbondanza. Per chi non gradiva le verdure sono stati portati due risotti solamente con il radicchio, non fa una piega! Il secondo piatto: tagliata di pollo con verdure, di cui il pollo neanche tanto male, un po' secco forse, con verdure si intende una fetta di melanzana, una di zucchina, una di pomodoro e una di peperone grigliati. Dolce: non saprei bene come giudicarlo, ma non di certo definibile un buon dolce. Una cialda di pasta in alcuni punti anche poco cotta con crema e frutta non proprio fresca di serata. Neanche il caffè ha concluso bene la serata. Insomma una gran buco nell'acqua. Peccato perché l'idea in sé è per sè era carina ma non di certo valorizzata dall'organizzazione...
